buti na lang may thread na ganito...mukhang ok talaga LG ah.

It just narrows down to LG scarlet and the LG plasma. kelan lalabas iyong bagong LG plasma? is it 1080p ready or just capable?

@ninjababez or cnn, or anybody else who might know

how do i possibly set the resolution of my laptop to exactly 852x480? ang lumalabas na options lang kasi is 800x600 and 1024x768 which is not the native resolution of the panel kaya blurred.

Contrast at 60, everything else at 50. Personally don't like the "Standard" factory setting.

DVD player is Oppo DV-980H.

Nakalimutan ko lagay sa picture post.

Player is Oppo DV-980H via HDMI, di ko mapansin yung difference whether I put it at 480p, 720p or 1080p. Even 480p would do, our 10+ yr old Pioneer DVD player looks great at only 480p via Component.

If your main goal is playing DVDs, go for an EDTV panel such as this LG 32" Plasma or the 42" Plasma w/o HDMI being offered by Jeff of TW.

if you want you can download a software to manually set the resolution of your display, i forgot the software name though :D
you can try this (havent tried this myself though  :D )
but 800x600 (4:3) should be fine .. 1024x768 is afaik 1080i good for movies and playing games.  but i suggest you use 1280x720 (16:9), to get its native aspect ration  ;)

btw why complain about the 1024x768 being blurred, youll never notice it in playing movies anyway  ;)

1024x768 is usable however normal 16:9 TV series don't fill up the screen like they're supposed to. Pano niyo ginagawan ng paraan yun? 1280x720 is not possible for the monitor since it's not a supported resolution indicated in the manual, wouldn't wanna risk it. ;D

I tried VLC and WMP.

Haven't tried the HDMI/DVI input of the 32PC5RA yet. Baka next time ko na i-try, was just wondering if there was any way to get native 852x480 through VGA cable.

Anyhow I was just curious as it is really not a necessity right now. Mainly use it for DVDs via Oppo anyway. Thanks!

Hi Peeps!

May inquiry lang ako sa lahat ng nakakuha ng new 150Hz model ng LG 32" plasma.

I'm very happy with the unit. :) The TV is mostly used for Cable viewing which is superb compared to my Samsung 40" 1080p LCDTV.

Since i use my 40" for all things HD. :) PS3, Blurays, Apple TV HD movies.

Anyways I tried hooking up the plasma to a HD source: PS3 or Apple TV via HDMI.

and I notice a thin white line sa ibabaw pag naka 720p yung output ko. See photo:

Take note: this only happens when the source is 720p. No problems when in 1080i and 1080p.

Which is no biggie since I usually set my Apple TV to 1080i. and my PS3 is set to 1080p naman so watching bluray movies is perfect.

My only complain is when playing native 720p games (like guitar hero 3 & 4) even naka set ka 1080p yung ps3 mo when pumasok ka sa game mag sswitch sha automatically to 720p hence the line appears. and honestly mejo irritating specially pag mejo black yung screen. As I said this only appears sa 720P output. Perfect picture on 480p, 576p, 1080i, and 1080p.

I inquired kay sir Jeff and eto yung reply nya:
"Yung 720p was force kasi sa unit its 1080i-1080p capable. kasi pag 720p it progress the unit into an actual 720p mode, 480p lang kasi yung LG so its better to set it up at 1080i/1080p mode."

What do you guys think? Is it a panel defect or ganun sha talaga? I'm not that troubled naman since as I said I use the plasma mostly for cable viewing. and the plasma at 1080i and 1080p is excellent naman. Mejo nakakailang lang na a new plasma can't display 720p properly. :(

@junespawn

Clearly it's a scam. Saw a similar list before. I advise you edit your post to avoid other members getting their hopes up in obtaining those TVs at very low prices.
