I think they're targetting a March release but they're waiting for the stocks to come in. As per Magnavision, the DVDs are all imported.

Sana nga, hindi 'limited' as when they use that term to refer to 'Transformers' Steelbook and Transforming sets...

I think pre-booking is ongoing as I have seen the mini-standee (as also posted in this thread) in Astro stores. I'm not sure though what additional incentives they are giving for the pre-booking, aside from you getting the supposedly "limited" steelbook.

Personally I'm holding off until I see the release or read some reviews here, as I noticed the mini-standee only lists a commentary as the Special Feature & nothing else. The R1 has a 78 mins making-of documentary + other featurettes, which I want to see. If these are all carried over to the R3 steelbook, then this R3 will be a very good release indeed.

I checked with Magnavision, they're still waiting for the shipment. I told my friend to update me though as soon as the items arrive.

For Transformers, I think they had to persuade the principal office to provide additional copies of the steel case and the toy, they got several feedbacks and request from customers when it ran out. Intially, as per Magna, Paramount allocated several units per region lang.

Anyway, I can't wait to get a copy of the American Gangster steel case.

I wonder if this would have the same glossy, fingerprint-loving surface as the Transformers steel case or if it would have a rough texture like the 300 and The Departed steel cases.

Didn't know of this also 'til I went online again. But since my brother told me about a Gangsters: Ultimate Collection which includes the 3-Disc edition of American Gangster, nagpabili ako sa kanya sa US.

Oo nga.. habol ko din yung packaging eh para madagdagan pa yung steelbooks ko... although masmarami yatang special features yung R1 since 2 disc...

here are the R1 special features on disc 2 listed at the back of the slipcase:

1. Deleted scenes including an alternate opening
2. Fallen Empire: Making "American Gangster"
3. Case Files - sort of an extension of the Making of.. feature
