I wonder how the whole 840 system would sound with your B&Ws? Probably more detailed but warmer?

OT:
Do you think a tube buffer would help in making my system sound a bit warmer? Minsan kse gusto ko rin marinig malalamig na boses sa mga audiophile voices tracks. The CAs give great detail (which I prefer) pero minsan maganda rin may variation. Especially when we listened again to that PSB Imagine T + NAD combo. Malambing. Hehe!

Get a seperate tube amp na lang for a seperate system. Perhaps a bedroom system w/ tube amp. Masarap pampatulog ang lambing ng voices on tubes. 

Then you can pair it with a 740c. yan din ang plano ko.

A separate tube amp sounds like a good option. Though I'll have to check the WAF (Wife Approval Factor) for another system. =(

Yan din ang problema ko. Bakit ganun, kapag sa HT, ang dali ng WAF. pero sa hifi, ang hirap palagi. Sayang di mo inabutan yun tube buffer ni master guru Ivan.

Resistor type pala yun mga pot high end CA amps. Ganda!!!

Yup, relay-switched resistors and 840A at 840E. Kaya diba pag nagaadjust ng volume sakin maingay puro kalatik. Same effect siya as the clicky rotary ones, pero remote controllable etong implementation ng Cambridge.

The 740A uses a silicon gate control (kaya noiseless). Yung 350A, 550A and 650A uses motor-driven film-type Alps potentiometers.

Madami daw kalansing pero di nakakabingi. Maganda daw bass at buong buo) Konting pakinig pa at maaappreciate na rin nya ang hobby na to. Hehe!

anytime my friends. guru ivan, i was thinking about the 640p mm/mc.  theres one available. i talked to ron...tempting think lang muna, like ive been thinking mezzy!!!!
when ron demoed the ca550a and ms mz2.....hay naku. bullseye again guru ivan. that combination can be used for critical listening
by the way i took my family to tempura/banawe. across the street, i saw a logo... monitor audio..i forgot the name of the shop. just thinking again.
for now im still amazed with the ca 550a/msc6 combo(an all-rounder). i really got more than my moneys worth .

That shop is Audioworld. You can listen to their Monitor Audio RX2 bookshelves. Price is just a tad above the Mezzos, and they're also very lovely speakers. They can extend a bit lower than the Mezzo 2 speaks, and have a warmer signature. Easy to drive din.

I think he can give you a discount on the 640P. Ganda yan set na yan. Tuloy mo ba ang balak mong 550C + 550A + 640P + Mezzo 2 / RX2? 

Your 550A and Carnival 6 combo sounds good na naman talaga. Btw, Guru Nelson is asking if you'd be free tomorrow morning. Mukhang may ibang niluluto si Guru.

I agree with Master Ivan, those RX2s really do have that warm signature with adequate "umph". Which is why I've been saving up to get it. Although I am very curious with that 550a/MSC6 combo that you have. I'd love to hear those one of these days.
