i heared ATI5xxx with updated driver can now used for 3D

It is a part of their HD3D Technology initiative. Apparently, even some of their older models can now handle frame packing unofficially.

However, this is the official statement:  "AMD HD3D technology is enabled on ATI Radeon HD 5000 Series GPUs and above using Catalyst 10.10 or later, however Blu-ray 3D playback is only supported on AMD Radeon HD 6000 Series GPUs and above."

I'm not sure if they changed their policy for Catalyst 11 and up.

Listed yung HDDs pero 0mA? If so, then the USB interface is probably powered.

If you don't see your devices there, check all the hubs listed. :)

Both can meet requirements 1, 2 and 4. AMD handles number 3 a whole lot better.

Sige will browse the pricings... so basically this all can be found in Gilmore..

Had you not included #3 to your requirements, the G530 would've suited your needs very well.

Yes. For movie and general purpose use, it's capable enough. Forget about #3 with this solution, unless you're fine with a very watered-down presentation. It'd still be a lot faster than a Zacate (by 206% by PassMark CPUmark standards), and power consumption should be close.

Passmark Numbers:

Relative CPU performance (CPUmark scores) of common HTPC processors:
Intel Atom (Diamondville) 330 - 634
AMD Fusion (Zacate) E350 - 727
AMD Fusion (Llano) A4-3400 - 2121
Intel Celeron (Sandy Bridge) G530 - 2226
Intel Pentium (Sandy Bridge) G620 - 2456
AMD Fusion (Llano) A6-3500 - 3058
Intel Core (Sandy Bridge) i3-2100 - 3856
AMD Fusion (Llano) A6-3650 - 4848
Intel Core (Sandy Bridge) i5-2300 - 5593
AMD Fusion (Llano) A8-3870K - 6960
Intel Core (Sandy Bridge) i5-2500K - 7474
Intel Core (Sandy Bridge) i7-2600S - 7476
AMD FX (Bulldozer) FX-8150 - 8367
Intel Core (Sandy Bridge) i7-2600K - 10070

Relative integrated GPU performance (G3Dmark scores) of the processors above:
AMD FX-8150 - (no integrated video)
Intel Atom 330 - 74
AMD Fusion E350 - 203
Intel Celeron G530 - 214
Intel Pentium G620 - 255
Intel Core I3-2100 - 272
Intel Core I5-2300 - 277
Intel Core i7-2600S - 297
Intel Core i5-2500K - 437
AMD Fusion A4-3400 - 513
Intel Core i7-2600K - 521
AMD Fusion A6-3500 - 543
AMD Fusion A6-3650 - 543

As you can see, there is a huge jump in CPU performance once you get above the Zacate level, making it worthwhile to get an A4 or the G530 at the very least for general purpose use. The fact that it probably won't cost you any more to build is a huge advantage (the G530 processor costs ~2k pesos; you can get a USB 3.0 capable mainboard and still be within the cost envelope of an E350 board). Higher models are of course, icing on top.

For graphics, the jump happens when you get to the Intel Sandy Bridge K-series processors or the AMD Llano processors. Since the Llanos cost a fraction of the Intel K units, they make sense for more graphics-intensive use (like mild gamiing).

Depende din siyempre sa form of measurement. The increased clock frequency plus Hyperthreading helped the i3's CPUmark scores significantly dahil CPU benchmark yan. Kung application bench yan mas dikit sila most of the time since system performance na ang pinaguusapan, hindi lang component performance.

The i3's limited core count also squeezes more benefits from HT, whilst ang mga i7 halos walang improvement with Hyperthreading sa current consumer apps, madalas nagdedeteriorate pa ang performance.

The i5 Sandy Bridge processors deliver a lot of bang for most tasks without costing as much as an i7. I would go with this over the lower options if it fits the budget. The i7 Sandy Bridge and the i7 Sandy Bridge E are only a fraction faster than the i5 Sandy Bridge for most tasks, and thus only makes Peso sense for specialized uses at the moment (o kaya for bragging rights).

For the i5 models:
If you're planning to run with integrated video and/or plan to overclock, get a "K" processor (eg. i5-2500K). If you intend to run dedicated video and stick with the stock clocks, the no letter processors would give the same performance at a lower price (eg. i5-2500_). If you want a reduced thermal profile or a greener machine and a mild performance hit is acceptable to you, go with an "S" processor (eg. i5-2500S). If you want very low power consumption and heat generation, and would tolerate a larger performance hit, a "T" processor (eg. i5-2500T) is for you.

All 4 types have the same single thread performance (max turbo), but the lower power processors begin to clock lower as more cores are utilized.

Based on Anand's test bench specs, I compared the SYSMark 2012 performance of the G620, the i3-2100, the i5-2500K and the i7-2600K.

The i3 is on average ~31% faster than the G620, based on the system level benchmark. Arithmetics (file compression, office applications, statistic work, etc.) get the most benefit from an i3, whilst games and 3d graphics work generally don't get any noticeable advantage.

The i5 edges the i3 by being 50 to 80% faster for most processing-intensive tasks (3d rendering, 3d gaming, media encoding/compression, etc.), but barely makes a performance edge for media playback, internet surfing or general office use. Bapco puts a typical i5 system as ~41% faster on average against a similarly-speced i3 system.

The i7 edges the i5 by upto ~30% for very parallel tasks, but these are very specialized applications. Most other tasks do not benefit much from the use of an i7 processor, and thus Bapco puts the average gap at a disappointing ~3%.

Pentium - Great budget processor; performs just like an i3 as a gaming platform. This would be the Japanese or Korean compact car; perfectly adequate for the daily drive, cheap to buy and run, and has great residuals to boot.

i3 - Full featured processor at a reasonable price; perfect for general office and home use. I'd compare it to the stereotypical Japanese midsize executive car; competent, comfortable and reliable.

i5 - Powerful mainstream processor; great for demanding games, content creation, etc. Probably like a European sport-luxury sedan; chances are, it won't leave you wanting.

i7 - Xeon for the masses; targets specialized needs served by parallel-optimized applications. This is like having an Italian exotic... it won't be much faster than a nice sedan for 6 days of each week.

i guess... i will have to go with i5-2500 if budget permits.. hehe if not.. i3-2100....
kayalang medyo nanhihinayang ako ngayon dahil.. malapit na lumabas ivyleague... yung ivyleague po ba.. pwede kabit sa 1155 motherboards? hehe

motherboard kasi na tinatarget ko ngayon.. is asrock h61 matx... 2350php lang ngayon.. hihi... and nagpm na sakin suki ko.. saying tataas nadaw prices ng ddr3... kung tama ako bigay niya sakin is 1050php per stick of 4gb ddr3. ito na chance ko mag 8gb.. hehe

You're welcome. For the current desktop models, a Pentium is like half of an i5, whilst the i3 is like half of an i7.

We are to find out soon. I have doubts about the possibility though.

The Sandy Bridge processors currently do not officially support ram speeds beyond DDR3-1333. Mura na yan ngayon, I've seen 4GB sticks at ~800 pesos each sa Gilmore.
