The Blu-ray Disc Association (BDA) has announced that eleven Chinese electronics manufacturers have been approved to begin Blu-ray disc and Blu-ray player production, starting next year. The companies, which include TCL, Malata, and Desay, have all turned to Blu-ray since the fall of HD DVD in order to get in to the growing high definition market.
Expect prices of bluray discs and players to drop tremendously by 2010. I just hope the quality will at least be the same as what is produced today if not better. Once China takes over the productions of blurays, the common people world wide will benefit coz prices will surely be a lot cheaper, more affordable to the common people.
