Agree agree.

The sequence in the bath house was just gruesomely terrific without going over the top as American TV is wont to do.

Downloading Survivors now. Should be an interesting Christmas.

I have all episodes of Apparitions but haven't started watching yet. No Heroics I discovered by accident since it was always featured during the end credits of Secret Diary of A Call Girl. While we're on the subject, here's a few more worth seeking out:

Life on Mars - police detective in a coma after an accident in 2006, wakes up in 1973.
Ashes to Ashes (spin off of Life on Mars) - set in the 80's, this time with a female detective
Jekyll - modern day version of the classic. Based on Robert Louis Stevenson's book titled Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde
Spaced- Simon Pegg, Edgar Wright and company way before they became huge. The anti Friends

Panalo pre, I bought the UK boxset back in '06 I think. Mas mura for some reason, sale ata nun. The US version came out last July with added love fest commentaries from Kevin Smith, Bill Hader and others.

Mukhang cool yung US commentaries ah! Hope to see that too. Mas ok talaga UK series. I think it's generally far more intelligent than US shows.

Heard an excerpt online. Bill Hader talks about meeting McG at the Playboy Mansion. Hehe... McG was about to remake Spaced for Fox, thankfully it didn't happen. From wikipedia:

On 30 October 2007, it was announced that Fox would commission a pilot for an American version of Spaced. Variety reported that it was unclear how Pegg and Wright will be involved, but that they may be advisors to the series;however, Wright later confirmed via his MySpace blog that neither he, Pegg nor Hynes were at any point approached regarding what Edgar infamously termed "McSpaced" (as picked up quickly by fans and internet press who disliked the idea of a remake) and will have no involvement. Wright expressed that he was upset that "they would a) never bother to get in touch but still b) splash my and Simon's names all over the trade announcements and imply that we're involved in the same way Ricky & Steve were with The Office." Wright also expressed anger at the media for overlooking Hynes' role in the creation of Spaced by connecting the series to Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz in news articles. Pegg, Hynes and Wright have complained about a "lack of respect" shown by the US makers who have left them out of discussions. It was announced in May 2008 that, following a generally negative reaction to the pilot, the American version Spaced would not be commissioned

Will check out Ashes to Ashes and Life on Mars. Have Jekyll and Ultraviolet, the vampire series from some years back.

I've heard of both Ashes to Ashes and Life on Mars but never got to check it out. I'll d/l it over the weekend.

Just finished the last episode of Apparitions. Man, it was killer! Probably the scariest scene I've seen in years was contained in the last fifteen minutes. The episode ended with an amazing setup for future episodes. Unfortunately, it looks like this is a series that won't be renewed as its ratings continued to plummet in each succeeding episode.

Now I'm stoked about Joe Ahearne's new TV project -- a new series on superheroes called Superpower. he promised that it won't be a sendup of any of the superhero-themed shows on TV right now and he ha thought up a gimmick that will refresh each episode, whatever that means.

Finished watching the first episode of the anime Ergo Proxy. Blade Runner meets AI cyberpunk adventure that's also a philosophical look at sentience and humanity.
D a m n near perfect in my book.

Slightly off-topic banter: Was driving around with the family last night to test out the new repairs on our car. Since I forgot to bring my iPod I just tuned in to NU 107 and caught the Rock Ed show. It was quite serendipitous because the topic was "The Nightmare before Christmas". Guests Rahyan Carlos, Yvette Tan, one other writer (her middle name's Daza, sowwy forgot her full name) were talking with Lourd de Veyra and the other host (sorry forgot her name too) about scary things to kind of put a different spin on Christmas. Really creepy stories, especially with Direk Carlos and the hand that appeared on the screen while filming in a morgue. The cool thing was their opinions on different horror movies from the more popular to the obscure Asian films. My cuppa.

Back on topic: Because of the cool discussions I got enamored enough to unearth my previously d/l horror shows. Now brushing off the dust from the defunct Brimstone series and will follow that with the second season of Masters of Horror.
