I've had wdtv live,xtreamer SW,egreat R200 and S100 and now mede8er 400X2s.

I would say mede8er is the best I had so far. This is a stable media player and I havent encountered any issues/bugs yet. I really like the support from their website specifically firmware update and also YAMJ software.

hmmm... Will consider the mede8er 400X2s, I really dont need a lot of features din kasi, no 3d, no net, and no internal HDD with a nice price ang need ko. I currently use an egreat r6b and it surely fits the bill - been using it for over a year now with no complaints, I just want another NMT so I can donate my current NMT to my GF, para me NMT sia sa condo nia.

Pano bad? me lag?

My media files are stores in a pc, which my r6s accesses remotely. Many times, the contents of a network folder don't appear. I have  to go back to the main menu and navigate back to the folder. Annoying as hell.

Imagine having to navigate back to file/network/workgroup/server/hdd/c/tv using your remote's direction pad all the time!

@javauser - they retired the feature in the latest version coz it was requested by an EU country.
I asked if it can be inlcuded in the next release but there's a tech consideration that's holding them back.
I think, your best bet is to rollback firmware prior to you upgrading it, since happy ka naman sa favorites shortcuts nun.

You can also try with mede8er and measy if it can shortcut a network path, or ask around our mede8er/measy friends.   I cant do network shortcuts in HiMedia.

Define better please?

I used the A400 for 2 full days in December and the issues were all associated with an obviously half-cooked FW and lack of Full BD functions that its predecessors had.  I used the R300 for 2 full weeks in December and the issues were all associated to it having a Realtek chip instead of Sigma.  Ive been using my A200 for nearly 3 years - never unplugged even once - never - watching full Blurays in full BD quality and HD audio practically everyday.  They are all freaking awesome in terms of PQ and AQ and reliability on my set-up.  Problems are usually caused by the files themselves - not the player running on its stock power supply.

I am just using the old WD media player and did my own linear power supply. This linear power supply, we had also tried on the A400 and Squeezebox, and all three of them had a big improvement, soundwise. Sorry but our main purpose is to use them as a music source that is why we really didn't do any comparison on the video improvement, if there was any.

mga sir, i had a PCH A200 bought early 2010. panay na kasi ang shutter. pero even before ganito na ito. kahit pa panay ang software upgrade ko. ang sabi sa akin, nasa movies na nadownload ko daw kaya ganoon. pero halos lahat na yata ng movies na panoorin ko nag fre-freeze at nawawala yung audio. so malamang sa unit na ang problema. ano kaya ang magandang ipalit na brand. huwag lang yung sobrang mahal. may nag sabi sa akin na mede8er daw. mahal na din kasi ang PCH. ill be using it to download torrents din.tnx

Not that i have anything to say about other medial players that i have never owned before in the first place, but yes, di pa rin ako binibigyan ng probles ng r6s ko in plaing movie files - files that my LGLED TV's and My toshiba BDP's built in built in multimedia players wont play at times. Swak sa budget and features itong si R6S. Take note, di pa ako nakakapag update ng firmware since i purchased it last December yan ha?! :)

AC Ryan is very fast, especially the Play on HD2 or HD3. Comes with 2 years warranty, plays more file types then any other media player in the market. Easy to use, but powerful user interface.

this is the most stable NMT I ever had so far. I bought it this January.no lags or bugs.it played all my 1080/720p files. best of all, I like the NMJ feature the most. This is really a bang for the buck entry level media player.

^thanks sa info sir! plano ko kasi bumili ng nmt for my gf. im using egreat r6a-II pero want ko mag try ng iba..

musta po yung interface nia? di naman ba sya delay esp when browsing movies from HDD?

sa egreat r6a-II that im using, may LAG sya kapag mag play ako ng movies thru 1TB Ext HDD (im using 1Tb Seagate BackUp Plus)
di ko alam kung anu problem e... nung una naisip ko baka masyadong malaki yung 1TB kaya hindi kaya but nung tinesting ko iplay mga movies directly sa LED TV ko, smooth run naman sya..

wrto lag,
a. lipat mo sa USB stick yung same file mo that lags, and if the problem goes away, then its likely tolerance ng NMT sa latency ng disk mo.
b. check mo also other files in the same 1TB external HDD, kasi lag sometimes are caused by the decoding build that matches the type of files you play.
c. Check mo din if your player has the known stable firmware, latest does not necessarily mean the best from experience.

Guys quick help pls.

Can you recommend a basic low budget (4k and below) media player that has no prob playing most if not all media files (MKV & MP4) in particular.  Updatable firmware is must

What I want is fairly simple. Download the file on pc - transfer to USB - plug to Media player at home.

Other suggestions would welcomed.
xtreamer elvira
Asus O
Measy

Thanks.

You really should consider the AC Ryan Essential, it can do whatever you ask, play more file types then any other media player, new firmware available every few months and comes with 2 years warranty. Interface is very easy to use.

PM me if your interested, I can set up a demo for you.
