need advice : blu-ray dvd vs hd dvd

am contemplating to buy either an x-box 360 or a ps3....but will use mostly for hi-def movies.

which would you suggest?

pros and cons pls...

No brainer. PS3. Blu-ray won the war. Plus the PS3 is one of the best upconverters for SD.
No room acoustic treatment is like running a Ferrari on ice.

Since you're going to use it for Hi-def movies, go for the Ps3
If you're however, more into games. go for the Xbox 360

this are p*****d copies of bluray burned into dvd9, better pq than ordinary dvd but definitely inferior vs. orginal blurays  ;)

wow...really, I thought you still can't copy Blu-Ray discs?

you can rip contents, but can't burn them into bluray discs (yet...) that's why the jack sparrows burn them on dvd9 discs.  :)

Also you cannot enjoy the superior AQ that most blu ray titles have... ;D

But what if you have a hybrid player, will you still buy HD-DVD? Especially when most of what's left are dirt cheap  ;)

i still will sir, as you said its dirt cheap. sayang yung opportunity to get some good movies at sometimes 500 pesos lang.  ;D although for new releases, no choice but to go bluray.  ;D

agree with PS3 (BluRay)

Besides,  I'm beginning to see PC DVD drives that are capable of reading BluRay Discs... Costs around 6k na lang.  If you set up a HTPC you can set one up and start enjoying BD via yout HTPC setup..
