If I am into pure audio, which would be a better option for me, this player or a surplus CDP from pier? I kinda like the specs of this player though. Looks to me as an all around player with good audio capablity.

Pioneer DV610 is a decent CD player... it uses high quality DAC that is why it produces good cd audio playback. Use the front 2 channels of the 6ch output for stereo playback.

Thanks, would that equate to - the 610 almost always better than the surplus CDPs at Pier which you get for 1k to 2k?

With the specs of this player, do you guys consider this as the best bang for the buck player right now?

Which among the other DVD players (within the same price range) right now share the high quality DAC, if not higher, of the 610?

One more thing, where is the best place nowadays to get this? How much does this go for right now?

i saw the 610 at Western Megamall during the 3day sale last weekend. it goes for P5990 says the salesman.

Is it worth it? the 420 last i checked was about P5500...or is there a better 620 series in the pipeline?

Hot Mama this model has been sold here in the marketplace pre-owned with warranty remaining for P3500-4000.  I used to own one, it's good because it's region-free.

DVD Audio is a DVD but plays audio music instead of movie

mga sirs ask ko lang recently aquired the pioneer d610 and connected it via my onkyo 608 how come na yung video settings of the pioneer kaya lang niya up to 1080i at pag nilagay ko sa 1080p eh nag blue screen na siya.

is there a setting in the ampli that i should do para both the input and the output is 1080p?

almost all malls meron pa nito wala pa naman silang mas mataas na unit eh. try listening room sa megamall B sa 3rd floor sila malapit sa escalator look for minnie dami pa sila stock nyan

I've seen the schematics for this player (thanks to the internet)

and based on the schematics..

It has 3 Burr-Brown/Texas Instruments PCM1742KE 192KHz/24Bit DACs for all 6 channels (3 DACs x 2 channels per DAC = 6 channels)

and

3 Texas Instruments RC4580I 2 channel OpAmps (3 OpAmps x 2 channels per OpAmp = 6 channels)

arranged in this fashion

Centre+LFE (Sub) = 1 DAC + 1 OpAmp
Surround L+R = 1 DAC + 1 OpAmp
Front L+R = 1 DAC + 1 OpAmp

A client bought his at SM appliance centre (I forgot which one but I guess you can call SM on which branch has stock) for 5,XXX (didnt bother the actual price, but I know its less than 6K)

at that price, plus its a DVD Audio / Super Audio CD player, its a STEAL.

I guess that would depend on the listener and the partnering gear, Master Tirso. Though the C515BEE is soundly better than the DV610, there are times when the livelier character of the Pioneer helps. Spectra helped us A/B test these units when Punkrocker was looking for some gear.

I have not heard the DV610 side-by-side with the NAD 510, but the DV610 is a fairly decent mass-market dvd-p. The 510 is a good CD player, but it has been around for 15 years. I suppose it can go one way or the other.

actually wala ng comparison kase yung NAD ayaw ng bumasa ng cd sus malas naman, papatingnan ko na lang kay brader rascal in the meantime nag enjoy muna ako ng audio thru the mede8ter inspired by brader nelson the audio guru

i own a dv-610av, it is a decent audio player, napakaliit lang ang deprensya nito sa nad525, halos wala if you dont have golden ears, sacd na dvd audio pa. burr brown dacs, medyo mabagal nga lang sya bumasa ng cd/dvd. pero its realy very handy! i also use this to play mp3's from my usb and convert my cds to mp3 and record it to usb. very useful if you have a portable mp3 player, para kapag wala ako sa bahay eh, i can still listen to my favorite cds thru mp3. it is an all around player, what more can you ask for? bang for the buck player!

Mas maganda tumunog itong dv-610 when used as a cd and dvd player, using left and right audio output connected to amplifier compared to other cd player na nai-listening test ko na. Yung mid to high nya mas emphasized pati na rin bass at overall signal level. Maganda pati left and right separation as compared to others lalo na sa china dvd player, kasi parang maraming nawawalang tunog when I used and test china dvd, Yung dati kong china dvd (full size at mini yung isa), pati yung separation halos konti lang, kaya pinamigay ko na sa relatives ko...

parang lang pero yung Pioneer USA and Pioneer Japan maganda parin ang quality ng Products nila. Yung Pioneer DVD player dito sa bansa parang naka modify iyon para maka-play ng PDVD compare sa ibang bansa na hindi sya maka-play ng PDVD. 

Yap joint venture sila.. I read some article na nag-su-supply ang pioneer ng speaker sa sharp para Tv sets ng sharp... Correct me if am wrong

Gud Am mga master, ano kaya problema ng DV-610 ko almost 3 months pa lang mula ng binili ko sa ansons., ginagamit ko lang pang movie watching (DVD-9) thu hdmi.Nung una napupuna ko nagba-blank screen intermitently at pag 90 minutes na yung movie papuntang ending nag-i stop yung plyer (meaning hindi mabasa yung DVD-9), akala ko sa dvd disc pero may luma akong pioneer dv-566k taiwan model ito, ay nababasa at natatapos ko yung film., connected thru component out. Sa ibang araw at ibang dvd movie minsan ok naman. Any idea mga Master...next step ko ay tatawag na ko sa ansons customer service siguro. Thanks in advance...

Finally I got one for myself. Hirap hanapin. Walang stock SM, etc. Usually display item na lang ang available. Nakakita ako sa Western-Farmer's Market. Last stock. Lucky me.
