JVC confirms first THX certified projectors

JVC has announced its first THX-certified projectors at the CEDIA Expo in Denver. The brand actually launched four D-ILA models at the show; the top two sport THX certification. [JVC's THX certified DLA-HD750 projector]
Known for their supreme black levels, JVC's D-ILA beamers promise a 30,000:1 native contrast ratio, without recourse to a dynamic iris to artificially inflate contrast specifications. New in this range is an HQV Reon-VX video processor developed by Silicon Optix and advanced colour management.
The DLA-HD750 and DLA-HD350 will be handled by the brand’s consumer arm, while the DLA-RS20 and DLA-RS10 with come via JVC's professional group (the HD750 and HD350 will also come into Europe).
Of the four, the look-alike DLA-HD750 and DLA-RS20 projectors come with the THX seal of approval. THX certification will be carried on all iterations of these models worldwide.
JVC says that THX certification was only granted after the models passed extensive tests to challenge their scaling, motion conversion and de-interlacing capabilities. The pair also sport a new THX Movie Mode. This is a pre-calibrated video setting for watching movies on DVD, Blu-ray or TV which automatically sets the optimum gamma, luminance and color temperature to mirror those settings used by filmmakers in post-production.
While JVC UK was been reluctant to confirm prices for the European editions at IFA, JVC US says its DLA-HD350 will be available for less than $6,000, with the DLA-HD750 following at around $8,000. The DLA-RS10 and the DLA-RS20, available in a pearl black finish, will be available for $6,000 and $8,000, respectively.
