^^ Gotta agree with the double-sided BD steelbook. If you are looking for the BD that is... I don't think they have a DVD steelbook counterpart of that. $:-\$

This is very helpful but the thing is, some ebay sellers/online stores do not post pics of the actual item. they only use the default photo from the database... and you can't distinguish from their file photo whether it's a steelbook or metalpak. So I suppose one other tip to the buyer is to bid/buy only from those stores/sellers that post pics of the actual item. Just to be safe.

I saw those Kill Bill MetalPaks when I went to Amsterdam... It looks good actually, wish I bought when I was there. I ended up buying the Scream Trilogy on MetalPak... The case looks okay, but the disc design were not. It sells for 6 Euros, so 'technically' ok lang.

Your right andami sa Amsterdam yung steelbook at metalpak kahit saang movie shops around the city. Laki paghihinayang ko, last Nov. nasa amsterdam ako hindi ko naisip magcollect noon iba ang na window shopping.

Sirs, do you remember the names of the stores you went to when you were in Amsterdam? Is there also a BD/DVD store near the airport? I will be in Amsterdam on a stopover flight to Turkey this June. I have about 5-6 hours to kill at Schiphol on my return trip. I was thinking maybe I could go out into the city and visit the DVD stores there (if it's not too far from the airport).

Wala pa ko plans to buy BDs. Nagiipon pa ko pambili ng LCD tv at BD player.

Planning to upgrade my home theater. If the "pocket" permits, baka this summer.

I noticed in Netherlands lahat ng napuntahan ko na nagtitinda ng mga DvDs common na makikita mo yung mga steelbooks na amazed nga ako unlike sa UK kasi bihira. Sa airport hindi ko masyado napansin kasi wala pa akong interest noon pero sa laki ng airport at madaming shops parang mall 99% meron yan. Meron express na train papunta sa Amsterdam medyo take time may kalayuan sa loob ng train station meron nagtitinda ng mga DVDs at Blu.

Good! Sana nga meron sa airport so I won't have to go to the city anymore. baka maiwan ako ng connecting flight pag na-ligaw or na-traffic ako. hehehehehe

Sayang nga because I was in Amsterdam too back in 2004 but at that time, I wasn't serious yet about dvd collecting so it didn't occur to me to look for DVD shops. We mainly shopped for pasalubongs like cheese and souvenirs. ngek. $:-\$

Yep common na common ang steebooks, er i mean metal paks dun... madami mga LE na DVDs, di ko masyado nakita sa ibang sotres kasi hinahanap ko ang RLD... hehe.

andali lng hanapin ang RLD paglabas mo sa Train Station yung street papuntang Dam Square kaliwa nyan yan na ang RLD... I stayed in RLD center beside the Police Station

Maganda ang transportation system nila... mag-ingat ka lng kasi yung biseklita nila ambilis walang paki kung merong masagasaan sila ang hari ng daan. Basta lahat na stores kahit na maliit basta merong DVDs impossible kung walang steelbook o metalpak.

Hindi ko pa napanood yung Kill Bill basta andami features 2 disc edition hindi ko lng maintindihan yung nakasulat

Got it 2nd hand off ebay - only $0.99. Noticeable dent on the front, lower right side. But i'm not complaining. Got it really cheap!

A lot of steelbook collectors find the green ratings logo to be utterly ugly. I hope they release an R1 or R3 steelbook too, minus the green logo in front. $:-\$

Sad to say that logo's not just a sticker but including in the cover art, any dvd without new rating logos in Germany will be illegal in 2010 but some major companies started complying this crap.

...minus to all German released SteelBooks™. A lot of discussions regarding this logo thing but some small companies are starting to use double-sided covers, backside has them without the rating. Big companies don´t seem to care, they have not even complained. Right now in sales seems the effect is minimal but sales prolly will drop to the collector's side.

This only affects to all German released DVD's and BD's not the whole Region 2.

Yes, I heard it's not going to be a sticker but will actually be printed as part of the cover art, thus, ruining it.

I don't think I will be buying German released Steelbooks by 2010 if they all comply with this ratings logo... the bright side is, at least menos gastos na ako. hehehehe.
