Its a R200 Pro. Boot up is fast, pero seems the firmware defers detection of drives and wifi module(which is an option) . This baby can also run on TPlink USB wifi dongle so just get the R200 if you have one on hand.

During bootup, it detects the 1st HDD, then the wifi then the 2nd HDD. So depending on the # of drives you have attached, once done with the routine, remote is responsive. I noticed it coz I left my 4100 Thecus(1.5TBx4 on JBOD mode) in the USB of the R200.

Short of it, once all storage devices are detected, you are good to go.

God bless bare sata connector! - File transfers via bare sata connector hits 3Gbps so copying beats LAN or USB 2.0 transfers anyday. i used to have my movies, movie series, tv series, concerns allover  multiple 1.5TB disks, but with the xmas break, i was able to tame my collection -- chaos to order  ;D.

I got my 2 units November, and I am happy that I bid m8r 500x adei, decided to share that joy last holiday season and boy was it fun for my contacts. R200 lets me make use of my working SATA much like how we work with USB flash, bigat nga lang pero transfers are fast I can copy disk contents to their local disk, all without firing up a PC na.

 R200 Pro @ 8k /R200 Pro w/ 1.0TB @ 10k/R200 Pro w/ 1.5TB @ 11k just add 300 for 1.5m HDMI gold tipped (for bundle offers only )

Mid Feb, i'll take orders for S800, 7A, so if you want to make reservations just PM me. Price TBA.

thanks brader Jake! got my unit from Toys4geeks (Jim) for 10k (unit + 1TB HDD). Suggest get na lang the unit since you have lots na of HDDs. Working well naman with the other HDDs that I have. Not unless there are lots of movies out there na wala ka pa sa HDD mo which is unlikely  ;)

still evaluating my unit but overall better than Mede8er 300x which i still kept  ;D

Alan, parang nakita ko yan sa setting ng Egreat  ;) however, hindi ko alam ano meaning. by the way, nasa akin pa din yung Med300x. Decided to keep it for stand alone use  ;D. This will host TV Series, Documentaries and probably pictures. Yung tipong ok lang if direct to TV viewing :) So paguwi mo I can lend it to you so ma evaluate mo  ;)

Von, kung hindi lalagpas ang pa-EMS to Tokyo ng 1K pesoss, paki-palipad mo na sa akin anytime para maibalik ko sa 'yo ng Valentine's Day with bazillion of stuff to stress test your new R200's BD capabilities  ;)  Sagot ko yung EMS to Tokyo of course.  Just let me know.

Ang pogi nga nung R200 Bro!   Brushed aluminum finished.  Very Cool! - compare that to my smooth brittle plastic A200.  Hahaha.

Hi Alan, I can send it to your place sa Pasig if you like, PM me na lang the address ulit. I will inquire din the cost of shipping to Japan. Hanap din ako ng punta ng Tokyo (either dito sa Isuzu or Honda) baka puwede maki padala and mail from there.

Mayron bago na A210 ganda din ng casing  ;)

Mas mabuti sana to Tokyo because pabalik ang Kumander to Manila this February so maibabalik ko agad and then ako naman magpapahiram sa yo which you can keep until my visit sa early Aug - exactong pang comprehensive test/demo ng R200 capabilities talaga yon...puedeng EB material...hehehe.  But Im not rushing Bro.  Kung puede lang bale.  Well actually naiintriga ako sa kahiwagaan ng 300x and meron din kasi akong loyalty sa Mede8er line.  Hehehe.

BTW, I know the main office of Isuzu in Tokyo (the glass twin towers at Omori Belport in Shinagawa-ku ba?).   Been there more than 100x since the 90s because some of our associates are holding offices in that area.

Hahaha.

Ok please keep us enlightened about your R200.  Thanks!

Thanks Guys,...

lahat ay may kanya kanyang strengths and weaknesses, pambihira,...

At first I was looking at the WD TV Live Plus, nagkataon naman na wala pa masyado nito sa market natin,
reviews on the Seagate FreeAgent Theater Plus naman ay hindi masyado maganda, kaya now, I am at a lost,
I just need to ask around muna talaga kung kumusta ang PQ and AQ nya, as well as support on most of the video and audio format natin...

Thanks for posting your impressions and reviews on this unit, malaking tulong yan sa aming mga nasa market ngayon ng media player...

Cheers all,...

Ganda egreat.

Even on the new site.

Hi sir,...

I got your SMS yesterday, and yeah, yan ang complaint ng ibang Egreat users sa akin,
medyo mahina nga daw ang support, though the unit itself is a great performer,
I already talked to sir Vic, and have ordered the WD TV Live, the WD TV Live Plus only released
in the US kaya pala hindi ganun karami dito sa atin, anyway, thank you sa lahat ng informations,

regards to all,...

Well they were all provided the same SDK by Sigma.  Based on my 31B experience, it was clear that Egreat's FW developers were totally inferior compared to those of Popcorn and Tvix.   Para silang tubero na imbes na palitan yung buong pipe na puno ng butas everywhere, vinulca-seal paisa-isa, but everytime a hole was patched, the other holes kept on bursting - tapos iniwan nalang na ganon in the end. So jack of all trades (on paper) but master of nothing at all.  The 31B was a very frustrating device.

So best wishes sa mga bagong Egreat players in terms of FW support and upgrades

BTW, make sure to keep a back-up of all FWs released by Egreat.  I still have about 5 FW versions of the 31B na pa-palit-palit depende sa pinanood ko.   >:(  Parang kotse na may sports mode, economy mode at standard mode depende sa driving conditions.   Hehehe.   Oh well.

true that.

para lang hindi OT: the wdtv live you've gotten has the sigma 8655 - same as the egreat s7a, while the egreat s800 uses the pch c200's chip w/c is the 8643 chip. sayang potential ng s800 w/ external sata port and 7.1 analog out.  :( with proper support, this is the better alternative to the newer PCH's sana.

brader Jake & brader Martin, yup the Egreat serves its purpose talaga. Yun nga lang the model that we bought initially was then what was considered close to the top is today medyo naiwan na sa features. Well it is the same with other Electronic gadgets, TV dati ang ganda ganda na ng tingin natin sa let us say PV70 then PV80/PY80 they still look  good to this day but if you look at the V series medyo naiwan ng konti yung mga P models ;D ganyan din sa cellphone lots of additional feature but majority of its usage is still Calls & Text, well medyo humahabol na sa akin yung push email sometimes nga more than text  ;D so really difficult to expect a lot from an old model sa bilis ng improvement sa technology  ;)

siguro for the new encodes dapat bili na lang ulit ng bago Egreat  ;D so game na mga braders go go go  ;)

Oh I loved PCH C200(sigma based), so i have a few S800 Sigma for the more discerning NMT would be owners.
I'll have a few S800 Pro by march but 3D module (S800 Ultra) is still not available until after Chinese New Year.
if you have pricing info ng newwe popcorn that do 3D, let me know, pang nego point ko vs. egreat, we need to bring those units in and hopefully affordable. from experience customs and duties significant, so at times, when i have order volume, they give in.
 - toys4geeks

Quick question mga bro, gusto ba natin ang 3D? di ko pa masyado nasilip to and i prefer to wait it out until mag mature yung 3D on S800 Pro, para di tayo mapahiya sa mercado. - Jim@toys4geeks

Same here. I really like it still. I find my 31b really good at passing hd audio. Panalo talaga. Just disappointed that they stopped providing firmware support.

Any brand/model ba that I need to consider? do 5400RPM or 7200RPM makes any difference in watching HD movies? ito ung mga pinagpipilian ko lahat ay 2TB:

for 5400RPM

Samsung ECO green F3/F4
Seagate bararcuda LP
WD caviar green

for 7200RPM

Hitachi Deskstar HD32000
WD caviar black
Seagate Barracuda XT

and another noob question regarding HDD, do I need to format it using PC or NMT?
or plug and play na ung mga HDD? sorry newbie lng ..

Got a new 2TB HDD yesterday loaded with HD movies..
I'm just using a HIVI PC 5.1 speaker connected sa analog output ng S7A
ganda pala ng SQ ng DTS HD ska True HD.. what more cguro kung high-end HT gears ang set-up..
