wow odom!
never thought i'd use those two words together.

as i'm a fan of both teams, lakers and cavs, this was interesting for me. philjax has done an outstanding coaching job against the cavs this year. he's put his bigs where they can do most damage, dialed in the defense against the cavs' high pick-and-roll with lebron, spread the floor to beat rotations.

the way they're configured now, the cavs won't have a chance against the lakers should they meet in the finals. and we already know that the celtics were swept by the lakes too.

hope odom and gasol don't disappear in the playoffs.

great teams win on the road. yan talaga ang true test. :)

Then, the great team/s are in the west...since, most, if not all, of the Lakers and the rest of the Western Conference 'Nine''s remaining road games are against Western Conference teams...while, the East's big three's (Boston, Cleveland and Orlando) remaining road games are against Eastern Conference teams...

The LA Lakers (the streak-breakers) were 6-0 during their 6-game road trip, including 2 streak-breaking wins -- Boston's 12 consecutive wins and Cleveland's 23 consecutive home wins...

The Spurs (they're 'Spurs Lite' no more) defeated Boston, the C's now have 2 consecutive home losses...the Spurs are currently 2-1 in their 8-game road trip...the C's 4 home losses, all are against Western Conference teams...

The C's will now embark on a 6-game West Coast trip, includes 5 games against the Western Conference 'Nine' -- New Orleans-Dallas-Utah-Phoenix-Denver-LA Clippers...that will leave the C's with only 1 road game against the Western Conference 'Nine', a road game against San Antonio on March 20...

Miami just traded Marion to the Raptors for O'Neal.. Marcus Banks goes to Toronto as well while Jamario Moon goes to Miami.. that gives them a legitimate post threat.. hope he stays healthy, though.. Marion never really fit in with the Heat..

amare's on the move. reports have it that two teams are left in the running, bulls and cavs.

anyway, the second most exciting part of the season is coming up. no, not the all-star game.
trade deadline!

yup. the knee of J.O. is the big issue. he should do the same rehab and conditioning program of dwade.

hopefully maraming good player movements ang mangyari come trade deadline :)

If Cleveland lands Amare, the Celtics would wet their pants coz they had trouble against Lebron last plyaoffs, so imagine how much Amare can help King James make a push for a Finals return.

if gagawin ng cavs yan then they would have to part with ben wallace and wally world. dapat hindi nila include sa deal si Z at varejao.

But would Amare accept a supporting role behind Lebron and because he is the point guard....Mo Williams.  Option number 3 will not be acceptable to Amare's ego.  Playing behind Shaq, he already made tantrums.  What more behind a bigger star in Lebron.

Did he really play behind Shaq? I was thinking that he reverted to the PF spot when Shaq arrived, making his job easier. And I think Amare wanted out coz the fingers were always pointing to him when people were looking for a reason as to why the Suns always lost.

Behind Shaq meaning the Suns plays revolved around Shaq not him.  Even though when you view the stats, he is still their leading scorer, most FGs attempted, etc....the whole Suns offensive philosophy centered on Shaq.  He wants it to be on him.  He wants to be the "main man".

he has to accept his role eventually as part of his maturity.

the deal being offered is jj hickson plus wally and his expiring contract plus a first-round pick. suns are trying to include delonte west but danny ferry will play hardball with that.

If Cleveland lands Amare without losing Wallace and West, that would be a one-sided deal like the Gasol-to-Lakers swap.

I doubt it.  It is the same reason why Kerr is trying to ship him out of Phoenix.

amar'e is overrated, kung di lang sa fan votes i doubt kung all-star sya ngayon. all he cares about is scoring. his defense and rebounding are still an afterthought.

Quote
“It’s always on my shoulders when something goes wrong … I’m not a captain so you can’t place too much of the blame on me,” Stoudemire said. “It’s not my job to rally the troops and get everybody on board. It’s the captain’s job to do that.”

Bill Russell, the cornerstone of a Boston Celtics team that won 11 NBA championships in 13 seasons, including a record eight straight titles, will be permanently honored by having The Finals Most Valuable Player Trophy named for him, NBA Commissioner David Stern announced today.

The Bill Russell NBA Finals Most Valuable Player Award will be presented at the conclusion of The Finals. Select writers and broadcasters who cover the series will determine the MVP.

The 1969 Finals between the Celtics and Los Angeles Lakers was the first time a Most Valuable Player trophy was awarded, with the Lakers' Jerry West the first recipient -- the first and only time the MVP Award has gone to a member of the losing team.

about amare being traded....i think the suns concern is their $$$, they want to trade stoudemire's contract for a player with expiring contract...para makatipid, same as Charlie Villanueva and Tyson Chandler...because rumors says that NBA team owners are also affected by the global financial crisis...some are nalugi na ng millions of dollar...

Anyone watched the Slam Dunk contest? I thought it was bad. The best dunk I've seen was Rudy's, from a feed from Pau.

i'm with you on this. if only pau had just gotten the pass right the first time. that was even more spectacular than iguodala's similar dunk from a previous contest.

Rudy's first was impressive too. Behind the back, off the rim. Dwight got 50 for a so-so dunk. I read a lot about this contest being rigged to be a Superman-Krypto-Nate (or lil lex) show.

Mas scripted yung Kobe-Shaq co-MVP award. Hehehe. The most-entertaining part for me was when Shaq did a dance with the Jabowokees ba yun? Pretty impressive moves for a big man. Hehehe

suns firing porter might mean that they might keep amare after all and go back to a faster game. now they're reportedly  shopping around the big cactus.

well, a trade that actually happened was tyson chandler to the thunder. that won't make chris paul a very happy camper.
