if you are going to set it up on a bedroom, better to get a home theater in a box (htib) you can get one from around 8-9K none hdmi. so you get the all-in-one amp + dvd and cd player plus 5 satellite speakers + small subwoofer. if you can get one for 8k, just add around 3k for a good karaoke player like karavision, so you got your movie, music and karaoke fix.

btw, this of course does not include the tv set.

another option is that if you have a friend that will soon be buying an lcd or a plasma tv, ask him / her to get the tv bundled with a htib and just buy the htib from him / her para makatipid ka.

+1, and these htib units are usually the newer ones (hdmi based), so better!

another suggestion sir is, to save a bit more to add to your 10k budget so you can get a 2nd hand receiver/AVR and 2.1 or 5.1 setup. for me, this is a lot better than going the HTIB route.   i know most of our guru's will agree to this as well.    this is just a suggestion though, its still up to you what youre going decide on.   if you feel the HTIB route is ok for you, thats going to be fine.    goodluck on your quest!

I found surplus amp yamaha dsp 2000, but i dont know the specs. like the wattage of its fronts/rears/center and sub.

10k... madaming Home theatre in a box na kasya diyan. Sony, Samsung, Panasonic, JVC, Philips, yung mga usually binubundle with the tv. pero mas maganda if you increase your budget a bit. meron kasi dito sa pinoydvd marketplace na second hand, bargain talaga minsan and will sound much much better.
