It looks like this WD thread will soon become the longest thread on the NMT board. That's quite a feat for a new device that's not even an NMT!

And oh, would anyone be kind enough to post pics of the WD player playing movies with subtitles on (either .srt or .sub). I'm pretty particular with how subtitles look

With firmware update 1.01.01, subtitles are displayed at the lowest portion of the screen.
Subtitle size is selectable on the player. Font size selections are: 24, 28, 32, 36, and 40. The above screenshot used font size 36.

When displaying only 1 line of subtitle text, that single line goes to the very bottom of the screen.
Bugs:
1. When displaying 2 lines of subtitle text, the 2nd line is slightly off-center.
2. After a long interval without subtitles, the next subtitle will appear about 1 to 2 seconds late. On scenes where there is a rapid succession of subtitles, synchronization recovers.
The above screenshots used .srt (UTF-8) subtitles, ripped from orig DVD Lord of the Rings Extended (which I own, of course
![Cool 8)](https://www.pinoydvd.com/Smileys/default/cool.gif)
) using SubRip 1.05b4.
