balance na po ba yun, sir?
Yup. :)

ok na po ba yung Yamaha RX-V467 for that setup?
If you like the new Yamaha sound (fluid midrange and inoffensive highs), then you'd be happy. :) If you want a more dynamic presentation, you may want to look at the Onkyo TX-SR508.

An "exciting" and "lively" sound, with more life-like differences between loud and soft passages (peaks and dips). The current Onkyos also have more energetic high frequencies than the new Yamahas, if that's your cup of tea.

- CS20 - big center - 1 piece
- FXi A4 - bipole/ dipole - rear speakers
- OWM3 - side speakers
- DSW Pro 500 - 10 inch powerfull sub

Sir Sanjay,

DO you think TSi's would sound good on a Yamaha 2600 AVR? Planning to get the TSi200 Fronts, TSi100 Surrounds, and CS10 to replace my Wharf 8's. Any recommendations?

Thanks.. :)

The Polk Audio TSi series work well with Yamaha receivers. I would suggest that you go for the TSi300 floor standing instead of the TSi200 bookshelf. Why don't you add either the Polk Audio PSW110 - 10 inch sub or the PSW125 - 12 inch sub.

Hi Guys,
I just want to ask if upgrading my onkyo 608 to 808 would  bring out the full potential of my tsi 200? malaki kaya magiging difference?

Because what i'm thinking is the tsi 200 has 150w@8ohms and my onkyo is 110w@8ohms. medyo bitin lang ako ng konti..

my setup: onkyo 608, tsi 200, tsi 100, psw110, cs10.

Thanks!

Mahina ba for you, or do you want better quality audio? There would be some improvement from the better onboard processing sa 808, together with the better power amp section.

What in particular are you looking for? Baka kasi speaker upgrade or room acoustics change ang kailangan. Try din to play around with speaker aim and positioning, tutal libre yun. :)

Bitin ang power nang 608 sa Tsi200, tsi100 cs10 running all channels? Alam ko the 608 has enough juice to power the Polk TSi's.. pano naging bitin for you sir?

Based on US specs, the Onkyo 808 is rated at 135 watts and the 608 at 100 watts.

http://www.us.onkyo.com/model.cfm?m=TX-NR808&class=Receiver&p=s

http://www.us.onkyo.com/model.cfm?m=TX-SR608&class=Receiver&p=s

However these ratings are in two channel mode and not all channels driven. I read somewhere that in 5.1 mode, the 608 produces 80 watts per channel and in 7.1 mode 40 watts per channel.

If you find the sound of your set-up "bitin" there just might be some settings that needs adjustment. At AV Shop's demo A/V room which is maybe 50 square meters the 608 can definitely fill the whole room with really loud sound. Try turning on Dynamic EQ and Dynamic Volume and see if the sound becomes louder.

Also check your source... hindi kasi pare pareho pagkaka record nang source eh... May mga CD's at DVD's akong mahina compared sa ibang titles so i tend to crank up the volume more pag nag paplay sila..

Thanks Stagea , Courage, & Conan!!!

paanong bitin? I really don't know how to describe it... My friend told me na "punch" is what i'm looking for.  it will sound silly but i've been trying to compare it to a denon 3310 + B&W 685 setup.

I really like the sound i'm getting with my tsi 200 but for me medyo feeling ko bitin compared to the denon + B&W setup. so i'm thinking na maybe if i put more power it will sound much better than denon + b&w. hence the question...
What i tried so far is tweaking the intellivolume to +6db for bluray. i nticed na medyo lmkas nga at solid yung sound. taasan ko pa ba?  hindi ko kasi alam ang mangyayari kung tataasan ko pa kaya di ko pa ulit ginagalaw...

Thanks!

The TSi Series is probably one of the best front tower speakers. The mids and highs were crystal clear without too much overpower. The bass is rich and somewhat deep. They handled the vocal music quite well with the soothing voice of the singer. In my opinion, one of the best way to test speakers is how it handles vocals accompanied by only one or two musical instruments like guitar or keyboards. I've auditioned other speaker brands and when playing fast beat booming disco music they were okay. But when they played slow, jazzy vocals, it did not sound good.

Got a chance to audition this at MLY Enterprises ( AVShop ) and we played various music types, Slow, Pop, Jazz, Upbeat and they all sounded great. The audition room at AVShop was kind of spacious and ideal to test out music and movies. Bass is semi-soft and punchy and the highs are clear.

Good to hear that you liked them. :) It's indeed best to test speakers with material that we actually listen to, to see how they'd do with our real-world use.

However, for testing basic speaker capability by ear, I typically use complex recordings (like one from a large orchestra). This is because they put a lot more stress on the speakers, thus setting good-performers apart from the rest.

Hello! Noobie here and looking to setup my first HT 5.1.

Considering a:
Tsi Combo of:
tsi 300 F - LR
cs10 C
tsi 100 - Surround
psw 110 - Sub

But for that price, Ok na din ang:
Mix of sorts:
RTi A3 F-LR
Csi A4
PSW110 - Sub
Any cheaper surround speaker (will purchase a good one next time around na)

Anyone who could share their thoughts?
I have about 20sqm. (14ft x 10ft) floor area for my TV space. Low 7 ft. ceiling.
Will watch movies 80%-90% over listening to music and my priority in sound is clarity of highs and mids for voice and to follow is the good feel of the bass.

I'll get the RTiA3 route. Same dillema last week, Auditioned the TSI300, TSi100 and CS10... and an Infinity setup, I ended up going home with RTiA3 and RTiA1..

Will get the CSi A6 center soon.. but if you dont have a big room i guess the CSi A4 will do...

Yup, I have a small tv area/room lang in my condo so I plan on getting A4 center lang. Will keep this as my main setup for about 3-4 years before we move to a house.
The RTi's are really attractive because they won't take up that much space.
But if I go the TSi route, I'll have a complete Polk system.

What AVR did you get? I'm considering the new Onkyo 509.

Why is Sunday afternoon so far away!? Hahahaha

Thanks Sir Stagea. Have a few classic orchestra music and will also listen to them with the TSi.  :)

This is true. I've also auditioned a few RTis. They have a clear distinction of high notes, midranges and bass.

SIr i'm Using a Yamaha RX-V2600 and Harman Kardon 5500 for my RTi's. Also heard the RTi's using an Onkyo 608 and it sounded amazing... Filled the room at the shop of AVSHOP na parang gumagamit ka nang malalaking speakers... Grabe details and clarity...At one time yung isang pumasok na customer sa shop asked kung anong sub daw ang tumutunog with A3's... wala naman nakakabit na sub... Nung umpisa i even asked na pakipatay yung sub... naka direct mode pala so meaning ala ngang sub. I even walked to the sub kung naka off nga ha ha ha

Lapit na sir sunday.. ganyang ganyan din ako last week.. Although this monday ko lang kinuha pero during the weekend the waiting for monday is torture ha ha ha
