I'm buying a 32" lcd by sat or sun. I'm choosing between LG LF20 (around 26k) and Panasonic C10x (around 22k). Most of the time, i'm going to use it watching tv/cable only. Should I go with the full hd LG or just buy the Pana C10x?

I went to SM Appliances SM San Lazaro last night with LG LF20 or Panasonic C10x in mind. During testing both units, the Panasonic C10x had some problems when attached to a PS3 but it was okay with the LG LF20. Also, in terms of picture quality, the LG LF20 was definitely (for obvious reasons) superior.

However, I ended up not buying any of the two and instead got a LG 32LH70YR (scarlet 2.0) for P29,990 with free wall bracket.

I really don't know what got into me as it was not i had planned of getting (not within the budget I allotted for a 32" lcd) but I just bought it... maybe, it was the sexy scarlet red panel.

Paid it last night but I'm gonna pick it up today.

Good choice!  Congrats, sir!  Just curious, is Php 29,990 the cash price?

Yup, it's the cash price. But I heard the sales clerk saying that the 6-mos deferred installment is also applicable... not very sure though as i wasn't paying attention.

You have the option of buying the LG home theatre system (worth 19K+) for 10K but that's way way out of my budget... okay na sa akin yong lcd speaker muna as most of the time pang tv watching lang naman. Because i over shoot my budget... 15 days din akong lucky me noodles budget muna.  :D

Also, the sales clerk told me that by dec. they might have price increase in anticipation of the xmas shopping spree. Actually the Panasonic C10x was P 26990 (with free P5000 worth of credit that you may buy with the unit) thus virtually making it P21990 but now it's P 26990 with only P3000 cash deduction.

I'm not really into gaming but I did ask just in case I buy a ps3 in the future. When the ps3 was attached, the colors were not as vibrant as compared to LG LF20. Maybe it's bec. LG LF20 has a higher resolution. Also, there were moments of interruptions, screen going blank. I'm sure our techie guys here have a solution for it.

LG LF20 - eto yung full HD na right?
LG LS20 ata yung HD ready?
P1,000 difference lang sila.

I was initially planning to get the panasonic. Kaya lang para maiba naman I think I'm gonna get this LF20.
I also like the look of this LG panels (very modern)vs pana (parang lumang design na).

Ingat lang kayo sa LCD TVs na bibilhin nyo, lalo na if you're gonna hook it up with an HD player. Yung LG 32" 32LG70 na nabili namin e may problema pala pagdating sa PS3. It causes flickering when you set the PS3 output to 1080p (via HDMI sya). When you sometimes watch a movie or play a game at 1080p setting e nag-flicker and sometimes hang yung TV. Di ko na matandaan technical explanation nung problem, the tv is just not playing nice with the PS3 signal ata. Had it serviced and pinalitan board, pero ganun pa rin. Did not bother having it serviced again at content na ko sa 1080i signal.

I tried a high-end and cheap HDMI cable na but same result. Wala sa setting ito coz I've tried everything I can think of to convince myself na ako ang may mali. Pero as per research sa net, this particular model (and a lot of models and other brands) has had problems with the PS3 at maximum video setting.

I will appreciate your suggestions. Thanks in advance.

Boss neknek,

Pa-post naman ng review ng scarlet nyo.. TIA  :)

Planning to buy my first 32"LCD this weekend!

I'm not really a techie guy so it would be difficult for me to give an in-depth review of the scarlet basta okay ang picture at di naman ngongo ang sound, okay na sa akin yon.;D

When the SM Sales Clerk was making a demo of the scarlet, the picture quality was really vibrant, smooth and crisp but i knew they were using a demo dvd thus I wasn't expecting the same quality when I use it at home especially that we are subscribe to destiny cable... we had reception problem with channel 2 & studio 23. And from the comments in another thread, some encountered reception problems with destiny cable.

But to my surprise when we plugged the cable, the picture quality is vibrant & crisp and comparable to the demo dvd that they had shown....even channel 2 and studio 23.

I don't have a blu-ray or ps3 but we tried our old dvd (jvc dvd that i got free when we bought a jvc musee' 3 years ago) and borrowed the old & basic "Xenon" sort-of home theatre system of my sister bought in raon (roughly 3 years ago also) to watch "transformer 2" and we had a blast - clear vivid picture and sound quality. I don't have a trained eyes and ears but my basic expectations were met... more than i expect.

The bluetooth connection is working fine. I've tried it with my nokia and sony-ericsson phones and it was transferred to the lcd - pictures and mp3 music.

The plug and play usb connection is also okay. It detects quicky a usb once plugged. I even watched a movie stored in my usb. Unfortunately, when i tried attaching my iphone via usb, it wouldn't work... maybe it's not iphone compatible.

I haven't tried all the features or even use it's full potential such as watching with a blu ray or playing with a ps3... i might try attaching my psp slim by weekend to see if it's working. But so far it has met all my basic needs - watching tv and from time to time watching dvd.

Btw, i could have chosen the LG LF20 but the difference of P3000 for a 32LH70 with 100,000:1 contrast ratio instead of 70,000:1 and other features was the clincher when i bought the unit.... simply hard to resist.

If i am to choose LG 32LH70 and Pana C10x, I will choose the LG because of the 120hz natural motion features (very good for gaming). Dont worry about PS3 not showing 1080p video signal in LG, you can still choose 1080i or 720p and will not have very noticeable differences with 1080p in a 32" panel.

By the way, I have a Pana C10x, if budget permits, I should have chosen the LG.

Bros and Sis, reiterate ko lang na yung model ng LG ko is 32LG70 and it's that model with a PS3 1080p problem. Iba kasi model# ng mga binabanggit nyo. Head's up lang akin in case na bibili kayo ng LCD tv to check if the maximum setting of your PS3 or HD player will be shown properly in your LCD of choice. It would've been nice kung may PS3 ako dati to test out the tv before we bought it. Kahit na hindi noticeable allegedly yung 1080p signal sa 32" screen, it's still eats me up that I know there's a problem with my tv when I'm connecting it with a device that's supposed to make me experience the max HD setting possible.

Good price Mam May!

I went to (new) ANSONS near 6750 Building last night to check out the prices of 32 LG LH70YR, I'm planning on buying 2 units.  A salesperson's best offer to me was 27k cash/card 0% for 12 months.  Only catch is you have to wait for 7-10 days for the availability of the unit.  This also comes with a free bracket.

Price displayed in ANSONS for the 32 LG LH70YR was 45kish less 3,000 outright discount, this got me a little discouraged knowing that other Appliance centers and sellers here in PDVD offer it at 30k and below.  After moving around from LCD to LCD the salesperson approached me and I asked him what his best offer to me was.

Not a bad deal, if you ask me.  Did you pay upfront or just a deductible reservation fee?

Didn't make the payment yet as was looking for the availability of the units.  Can't wait for another week.   If a same deal comes along and I could get the unit outright, I'd be purchasing it already.

Was really curious at this price, lalo na yong 0% 12 months. Iba-iba bigay na price ng mga salespersons dyan sa Ansons. Baka dahil 2 units ang bibilhin.

Salesperson was Jeffrey Bautista, only unit left was the demo one.  Prior to our discussion, 27k was still subject for approval but that was his best offer.  Coming back there awhile ago, final price for cash was 28k w/ bracket for cash payments and 29,990 for credit card w/ 0% for 12 months.  Though waiting time is still 7-10 days, subject to the availability of the unit or maybe earlier.

I also talked to Jeff! Maybe I'll try to drop by later tonight and talk to this guy..I'll ask him for the discounted price..If I can get him to 28 then it is much better than 30 right? But does it mean 30K applicable now for credit card for 12 months? That is also a good deal...

Thanks DOC...
