Nice guide there, Philander. Just a cautionary note, the DSD logo also appears in many SONY CDs. They're not SACDs. Only their originals were remastered or recorded using DSD.
Not all SACDs are hybrid.
There are so many variations in each format. Though SACDs can go 5.1, don't be surprised if what you get is only 5.0, no LFE information, or even 4.0, no center channel and LFE. Also, there are a number of SACDs that are only in stereo. Not multichannel. Recording engineers are free to utilize how many channels they want.
Also DVD-Audio comes in different encoding resolution. Some use 96/24 or higher, others use 88/24 and a few in 48/24. Similarly, not all are in 5.1. But high resolution stereo is common to all.
