Should i consider an avr with higher wattage/channel?

I believe you should consider or add an amp for the A9 to fully maximize its potential.  ;D ;D

make sure that your avr have pre outs. I'm currently using a power amp on my A7, csi A6 and surrounds and man what a difference. Its better to have a mid speakers but gets feed with lotsa juice than flagship speakers with avr lang. Sayang ang potential eh. I'm actually planning to upgrade my power amp and get emotiva xpa-5 or xpa-3 I suggest you check them out while they offer 10% off summer sale.

Yes, but not to full potential. Consider looking at the M20 instead, if you'd be running an entry-level AVR.

AVRs are generally weak on the amplification side, and this is especially true for entry level models of most mainstream brands. The 521 will power the A3 just fine at lower volume levels. You may be able to use MCACC to some success, but don't expect it to sound the same as a higher end model.

A workaround would be crossing your speakers fairly high and using a good subwoofer.

Mga Bossing!

May problema ako!

Maraming Thank you po!
low end pa rin!

RTi is almost always better than TSi, though it needs a bit more current. Go for the better speaker, as you can always replace the AVR later on. At least this way, your speakers can grow with you.

Wow! Thank you for your suggestion. Yes AVRs constantly changes, and I think we can always pair the speakers to almost any upcoming AVRs.

... and yes the speakers would definitely grow up with me and the music!

Thank you so much sir!

I was at HMR Pioneer earlier and was surprised to see several Polk FS being sold for only 5k+ most still with box, i am not familiar with the models but these are the one's with 4 woofers, looks like recent releases. The only issue i saw was some tear on the speaker cloth, not sure about the woofers if it was rewinded or something since i did not bother to ask.

My friend told me that they're selling surplus Monitor series speakers, and a few other models. These are prior generation speakers to what you commonly see locally. They should still provide good performance, if in proper condition.

was there too, last monday and saw some mint condition tsi monitor 60 @ around 5K and some monitor 70 at 7K ++, also their demo set is paired with a klipsch sub (forgot the model but it was BIG) at 13-14K.  all came with box, but saw some items with dents/scratch on cabinet, tore cloth and some other minor probs.

I am also very interested in monitor 70, i've searched here and found out that monitor 60 is like tsi400, and 70 is like 500,  Question is, what would be a better buy, a floorstander monitor 70 or BS rti A3?  Would use purely for music (still open for amp to pair this to.)

A new RTi A3 would be a better buy, it has a more detailed sound then the older polk audio monitor series.

Looking at the Polk website and saw that there's an RTi A5, floorstander but at the same price point as the A3 . .

Looking at the A3 sana for a living room system audition, pero kung may A5 at the same price . . .

Any guidance here from the friendly Polk dealers?

Thanks!

Baka single piece yung nakita nyo na A5 price sir, kaya parang same sa pair ng  A3 ang price. In some markets kasi speakers can be bought per pc.

The retail price of the Rti A5 is P39,990 a pair; the retail price of the RTi A3 is P19,990 a pair. Talk to your local polk audio dealer to get best cash price.

What is the proper way to pronounce this speaker brand?
Sometimes I am left wondering because sellers pronounce it differently.

"Lots of people _really_ pronounce polk with no "l", like poke, smoke, joke. (p OH k)

Lots of people _really_ pronounce polk with a slight "l", which is not a strong "l" and just barely noticeable right before the "k".(p OH l k )"

Which is the correct pronunciation?
