i just saw in the papers, latest promo nila, deferred payment ng satelite kit, initial of 1.5k, then 1.7k per month for 12months, inclusive of the MSF and remaining balance for the kit. Im calling them bukas na bukas din!ü

That'll be like 21.9K in a year.

sir yung 1.5k is just a DP for the kit, deferred payment lang ng 6.5k na kit kaya yung 1.7 that is 1.290 MSF and 400 for the balance of the kit na 5k.

How do you guys connect your SD CignalTV decoder? direct to TV? through the receiver? Are there any benefits having it connected through a receiver? (upconvert to 1080p?).

RCA lang pala ang connections sa likod ng decoder.

Bro, nung SD pa lang ang Cignal ko, direct to TV composite connection ko, OK na yung TV speakers, mas tipid pa kasi no need to turn on my receiver. Kahit HD na Cignal ko, direct to TV pero HDMI connection. only HD Cignal broadcasts up to 1080p, imho no need to upscale Cignal SD.

Noticed last night that the HD broadcast are "zoomed", the aspect & resolution are correct but somehow the show is zoomed. Already called this to Cignal.

Good..exactly what I did. Malakas din kasi sa kuryente yung receivers..almost the same as the LCD..kaya makakatipid. Madalas pa naman nakababad sa Cartoon channels ang mga bata.

Another question..has anybody had to relocate their dish? plan ko kasi ipa relocate yung dish to a better area, to get better signal and quality. Do you know how much do they normally charge? sa technicians na lang ata yun eh.

actually sir out of the 8 so called HD channels wether true HD or upconverted, si Sony lang naman ang medyo hindi ganun kalinaw. pero the rest are really clear.

medyo nabigatan ako sa 9,590 na initial. pero seeing 10,000BC in HBO HD somehow nababawasan ang panghihinayang sa almost 10k

Yes sir, noticeable, even the kids here sa bahay noticed it. ch. 9 and 13 lang ang hindi nag improve.

pero i think it will/may differ dapende sa area and location ng Satelite dish mo, kasi they have a device that measures strength of your signal, sakin sabi ng installer one of the highest sa mga nagawa nya. check mo muna sir kung meron pagkakabitan sa bahay mo, nakatutok sya kung san lumulubog ang araw.

and they will NOT put it sa roof mo kasi even the slightest movement affects the quality of the signal.

pagkaintindi ko is you may be able to see the signal in the tv itself using the decoder options... from what i believe whatever the channels you prefer.. the stronger the signal the better the quality.. so for example you prefer hbo, then you should have the signal up around 99% to be able to get the best quality.. bear in mind that maximizing the signal on this channel will make other channel's signal weaker. but as long as your signal is over 90% it should be ok..

i learned this when the installers were retweaking the ppv channel of pacman cotto... since that sattelite is just being used to view ppv, they went for full signal on that channel.. other channel's signal went lower though....

Anybody noticed if the HD channels are sending dobly signal? My avr just detects pcm stereo even if the humax is set to dolby

I also noticed on HD channels, the sound is louder on the right speaker

Good Point...brings me to an important point..whats your Signal % and Quality % setting right now? Swerte na ata kapag naka more than 60%.

Is this true? Is it possible to vary signal by channel even if they all come from the same receiver and dish?
If so, how do I tweak it?
There is an item in the options to read the signal strength and signal quality. While my signal strength is low, like 50-60%, the signal quality is almost always at 100% level.

i have yet to check my signal now.. but the way gsat technician were doing it... one was yelling thru the fone "ayan ayan.. " then later.. "nawala.... balik mo!!"... so i guess the techician adjusting the sat receiver was either rotating the LNB or the dish itself..
