actually the technician can monitor the signal strenght and quality rating thru their portable Monitor, ginagalaw nya yung dish as he looks at the monitor habang gumagalaw yung signal rating. Pinapanuod ko sya while he installed mine eh. Got a 60+ quality rating, then 119 signal strength, yan na yung pinakamataas na nakuha nya, medyo may interference kasi na mga gutter at bubong.

checked the signal and quality of the office satellite..

signal was around 85%

quality was 98-99%

actually sir out of the 8 so called HD channels wether true HD or upconverted, si Sony lang naman ang medyo hindi ganun kalinaw. pero the rest are really clear.

medyo nabigatan ako sa 9,590 na initial. pero seeing 10,000BC in HBO HD somehow nababawasan ang panghihinayang sa almost 10k

If your TV is 40 inch or smaller you might not notice much about the PQ of upconverted channels. I have a 1080p PJ at 129". There is a big difference on how soft the unconverted channels are compared to the TRUE HD variety. I also miss the VOOM channel, excellent PQ same as History channel.

yehey my SD subscription has free ESPN and Starsports until end Feb. I can watch tons of tennis at the australian open and some winter games! nice one cignal!

i wonder how much will it cost for SD accounts to maintain the 2 sports channels..

just received a Text message from Cignal, early Bird Price of 450 PHP for the Pacquiao Clottey Fight until Feb. 15, tapos 550 na starting Feb 16....

kaso di ko alam kung pati mga Combo Subscribers kelangan na din magsucbscribe... Combo Plan yung akin pero mukhang di na ata free ang laban ni Pacman for the Combo Subscribers... hay.... may balita ba sa inyo regarding this?

if you were in my shoes, ano kukunin nyo? given my conditions:

1.  weekend lang makakapanood ng tv
2.  have sky and destiny cable subscriptions already
3.  getting this for ppv purposes only (para di mahuli sa balita)
4.  sports lang usually ang pinapanood. sometimes wwe/mma
5.  bonus narin if may live sports event na non ppv (f1, tennis, nba)
6.  loves discovery channel (mostly pangpatulog)
7.

things to consider:

gsat - siguradong may ppv coz solar is co owner of gsat.

cignal - may mga hd channels

gsat is 9500/year - kasama na ang ppv ni pacman-clottey

cignal is 11880/year (hd package) or 15480/year (full package)

again, pang additional lang naman for ppv, since i believe most channels that they offer are already in destiny/skycable.

im leaning towards cignal now as i type this.. coz it offers hd channels + ppv. but are there headaches from cignal tv subscribers?

advice is greatly appreciated.

Received sms from Cignal last night, you can now get pacman-clottey PPV for P 450, up to Feb 15. On Feb 16 the price will be P 550. The fight will be broadcast on SD and enhanced HD (similar to Cignal's Star Sports-HD). Just call Cignal for reservation and details.

BTW, Cignal subs, there were posts on another forum saying that Cignal might add 4 channels this coming March but there will be an additional P60 a month for the SD package.

The 4 channels are Cinemax (previously a bonus channel for SD+HD package), ESPN or Star Sports (only one will be chosen), an Entertainment channel and Discovery (ata daw). Another post also said that an adult channel (I think its Playboy channel but im not sure about that) will be added but most likely it will be on Premium/PPV.

ahhh sir kasi ganito yun.. skycable is a complimentary drop (x deal from a contract subscription of our work establishment)... destiny is also free, coz they never disconnected the lines when i had my destiny internet terminated.

so technically, cignal will be the first subcription line.

btw, sky/destiny is being watched/used by my parents who lives in the house.

I just got my cignal hd combo installed problems was the technicians doesn't know to tinker with the settings of the set up box so we ended up not having adjusted the settings from 720p to 1080i so we delayed the payment for the installation.

yeah ganun din sa akin., had my cignalhd installed feb 20 sat.  di rin ganun ka stable yung box.. i mean, my tv wouldnt display via hdmi pag direct, pero pag dumaan sa AV receiver, ok sya.. tinkered with setup na.. 720/1080i minsan ok, pag turn off/on ng box wala na uli..
