it is not common to cignal...
it is common to ALL satellite broadcast TV using ku band and it is called RAIN FADE

also, it is not only when "raining" that it will lost signal.
you can categorize the rain level... you will lost signal only during HEAVY rain.
drizzle and normal rain would be okay as long as the satellite dish is properly tuned. (like last Sunday PPV)
another thing, thunder clouds has bigger impact due to cumulonimbus clouds, that is a wall of water up in the sky that can block satellite feed. that's why sometimes they lost signal before it rains, but when the rain start pouring broadcast resumes. We use that as indicator in less than 5 min. heavy rain will come.

it is worst to other satellite provider... why?
- they use smaller satellite dish diameter, cignal uses 75cm, other use 65cm /55cm
- they use a not so powerful satellite, Agila used to be the best satellite signal strength but it is already nearing end of life.

Bigger dish (6ft diameter) dish can solve rain fade?
Answer is NO, ku band is realy affected by rain fade
C band (freq) is the answer to rain fade, but it is not used by satellite tv providers. they use ku band.

3 days nang walang HD channels.

Cloud cover lang wala namang rain. Resets not doing anything.

Normal lang ba na mawala ang picture if madabog or ma tap mo ang kinalalagayan nang STB?? o kaya pag malapit ka sa STB tpos mag emit ka nang high pitch voice??

@padawan: please check your coax cable if properly crimped or tightened /connected properly @ LNB IN.

@questor: check your signal reading when conditio is clear sky, that's the only way to know if your dish was properly tuned.

@pentium. Did that yesterday afternoon. There's a left--right play in the dish which I surmised resulted to a slight misalignment. . So i brought the box and lcd monitor on the roof deck, and panned for the strongest signals on 1 and 5. I also tightened up the mounting screws. It's now okay.

depende sa condo ser, most condo's has lock in agreement with a cable provider.
iptv is not yet available so far, kaya pwede ang cignal on a condo pero depende po sa condo,
if the condo allows you to install a dish and as along as you're unit has visual facing 220 deg SW. then, you may get cignal.

Grabe naman ang tagal ng pag process ng papers sa cignal. Hanggang ngayon hindi pa rin activated yung amin. Ive been calling them almost everyday na wala pa rin result. Poor ang customer service nila. Kulang na lang magmakaawa or makipagaway na ako sa rep nila. Pinagpapasapasahan lang nila customers. Tawag sa hotline tawag sa territory partner but no results. Nasa kanila na nga ang bayad may advance pa anu pa ba ang kelangan nila? Very bad experience considering bago pa nga lang magtry ng service nila.

sinabi mo ser... kami mismo nagrereklamo sa bagal ng activation nila. dami rin namin delayed activations running for a week na.
I saw your account as for evaluation last June 11, they should made a call out to have your units activated.

that's normal on heavy rains and all satellite based CATV. for HD mas sensitive lang.

2. How will I know my Cignal account number?
3. How much additional pakabit and monthly cost for 1 TV including all HD channels?

yung usb port ng hd boxes for "future use"" daw. probably for firmware update or kung magkakaroon ng recording capability yung box.

Ang alam ko walang optical digital audio out yung Cignal HD box.
HDMI or S/PDIF ang digital audio out lang nya.

@thebat: the HUMAX HD Receiver has Optical Out SPDIF , the new one has Digital Coax only.
