My Humax STB is acting up. SD Channels are unbearable because of constant signal failure and no HD Channels at all.

I'm thinking this could be solved with a Factory Reset. Is that a safe assumption? Anyone here know how to do this?

@redcrazy: better check your signal quality, might be due to LNB issue or mis aligned dish.

expect new channels NEW YEAR 2012. ch55 test broadcast channels on what will come.
dunno if HD test channels will be on ch79

Changed my LNB last week. I never thought LNB would fail this early. Cignal technicians said LNB usually fail about 1 year of usage.

The LNB is that "thing" on the end of the arm that faces the dish, right? Does that mean I have to replace it or aayusin lang?

depends kung yan ang sira o mis aligned ang dish.. sometimes pag sira ang lnb kahit anong align ng dish di magkaka signal, minsan naman ayus ang lnb, sira lang ang alignment, sayang naman kung bibili ka ng lnb..

LNB has 6 months manufacturer warranty and should be replaced free of charge within the said period once issue is reported to Cignal Authorized dealer or thru Cignal Hotline.

If you are seeing channels but not all of them, especially HD. then you might have a bad alignment.
If totally no channels, it would be a defective LNB.
check also your coax cable from LNB to the STB box make sure it is well connected.

Fox Movies Premium HD, which replaced Star Movies HD, says it is broadcasting "Dolby Broadcast in 5.1 Surround Sound". I have our box connected via HDMI and SPDIF to a Yamaha RX-V3800 AVR however the AVR will not report a 5.1 signal. I'm pretty sure I have the AVR setup correctly.

Is there a setting in the box that I need to have set?

Lately, bad trip itong HD ng Cignal. Laging nawawala for a few seconds. Halos hindi ka makapanood ng diretso lalo na pag araw. Wala namang ulap at ang taas ng sikat ng araw! Ano ba yang signal amplifier? Iyan ba ay sa Cignal mismo nabibili at magkano?

i believe your LNB is about to fail
we dont have any issues on cignal hd and you're on isolated case then.

We have this problem before. SD is ok while HD sound is on and off. Line Amplifier will solve this problem.

or maybe a slight misalignment...

i had this problem as well.. very sensitive ang HD signals.. konting misalignment lang on and off na sya.. just realign...

Signal amplifier is not recommended on a basic setup.

A basic cignal setup w/ 30m coax cable will work without an amplifier. We have tested using 1 reel of coax and still working.

New Year wala parin New HD Channels. Puro preview channel lang. And Fox Premium HD doesn't even count as new channel since nag palit lng ng name ang Star World HD to Fox.

I think tama lang price binanggit ni Pentium. Kse pre paid eh kaya i think you will have to buy the dish and the digi box (tama ba?).
