Bro pentium4, is it possible to subscribe to additional channels for a Prepaid 590 subscriber like me?

I really only need Star Sports and don't feel upgrading to a higher plan is worth it.

Thanks in advance for your feedback.

Lately, I noticed that cignal's signal seems to have improved.

That is, it handles rain and dark (storm)  clouds better.  It's been raining hard since Saturday here in Laguna, we were able to watch on cignal without any interruption. Before this is just not possible.  Improvement kaya ng upgrading... Di naman napalitan yung disk namin.

No setting changes needed for the boxes except for the Pace HD box.

the new satellite SES7 is of the same location with NSS11 that is being used prior the new one.

SES7 is optimized for HD usage as well.

MENU SETTINGS SYSTEM SETUP SATELLITE SETUP

LNB Type should be changed from Dual Band to Single Band with the Low Band LO frequency of 09750.

Note: Applicable only to PACE HD STB. Edit only as needed and at your own risk.

Yes, your free initial load of two months for prepaid
Then just load it up when you return.

Available in plan 390 and 590

If I may answer the question directed @ pentium4,
I think Cignal started upgrading their STB 1st week of July and I don't know if they stop upgrading now. You can check the SW version by entering SETTINGS, (default pin 0000), System Setup, Diagnostics, and check the Receiver SW Version. mine is 1.0.5.001 Jul 09 2012...

I'm on plan 990, Pace STB..

I still could not contemplate why Cignal did not increase the number of HD channels for prepaid 590 and postpaid 990 considering that GSAT had 8 HD channels for a php 300/month subscription..

Latest SW rev should be 1.0.5

@columbia: gsat with hd channels is P700 per month and not P300
on plan 990 you also have 8 HD channels and more usable SD channels.

Since some of you also noticed the improvements in video broadcast I'd like to think that it's true and i'm not just imagining things. :-)

But I've no problem with the video before, what i don't like much is the audio.  Pag surround, usually pag movies sa hbo hd o fox premium (dati star movies hd),  sound channel is off... lumalabas sa surround speaker minsan sa front speakers yung dialog, parang stereo lang na naka split lang sa 5 channels.

I tested it again today and it's the same.  But... U2 - From the sky down @ fox movies premium, the surround sound is spot on.  All other surround sound from other channels is off.  So could it be that the source provider (hbo, starworld, etc) is at fault here and not signal?

Pag na resolve tong surround sound issue I will be happier (kasi happy na naman ako ngayon e :-))

-----------------------------
Update: it seems that fox movies premium, nat geo hd, discovery hd are all broadcasting in true 5.1 surround. Again, last time i check... Its not

it is plainly the channel provider whois respobsible for that.

cignaltv is only the medium of transmission.
since their system is capable to deliver HD content with 5.1 audio.

what they receive from channel provider, they will just transmit to us subscribers.
and you're right fox premium and other hd channels are now okay.

good thing about fox premium is that they display on the particular movie if it is 5.1 broadcast or not.
kudos to fox premium

@pentium4:

according to Gsat's website, http://gsat.asia/sites/package, they had a uniform subscription of 300/month but differs highly on installation fee. @ 7,500 for the HD IRD against 4,500 for SD IRD,.. One of the reasons (if not foremost) that I'm hesitant in subscribing to their services is they don't really have a franchise in Congress. As for Cignal, if they offer ala carte subscription, I could trade 15 SD channel for just 3 additional HD channel in plan 990...

Mine didn't continue with it's update (PACE STB) because the problem stop.. maybe because na cut off na ang update..
but like nung sinasabi nang iba na di na siya nwawala kahit na malakas na ang ulan at makapal ang ulap is na e experience ko rin which means kahit na di mag update STB mo automatic parin siyang malilipat sa new satellite?  ;)

I think mine is not updated also.. could we just force update our stb's when it is convenient for us? Like when the weather is fine.. or when you are currently having your day off.. darn mother nature...

we do have the upgrade bin file and upgrade can be done thru USB port on your STB but this upgrade should be done by your local dealer/installer.

I have not tried the combination pressing of console buttons if it will work for upgrade.

@columbia: the website is one way of deceiving potential subs, you will just complain only after it was installed. add into that that they regularly change channels without notification, say every 3 months or 6 months.

True story. They will leave you alone after the installation. Then all they do is to wait for our hard earned money. Dont mind your selves on getting a good after sales support.

@pentium4

Can we have this bin file? Is it safe?

That is bad, but not all cignal dealers are like that. We value after sales, that will make our business grow.

On the bin file, Will chk first on our side if fail safe already. Problem is it is a big file..
Will report back if it is a success.
