BTW, Cignal is also in violation of NTC memorandum circular no. 4-08-88, which mandates providers such as Cignal to carry all Free To Air channels. Presently they lack the following:

BEAM/Jack TV 31
Light TV 33
UNTV 37
BEAM 31
SMNI 39
Hope Channel 45 and
GEM TV 49

I 'm hoping we at least get Channels 31, 33 and 37.

I already pointed out this fact to their customer care as well.

what they told me is that as the number of subscribers increase, the picture quality of the channels are compromised, but they are addressing these by upgrading and updating their system.

whoever told you about this is having a dream :D

number of subscriber does not in anyhow affect a channel feed quality.

I am also hoping that Cignal would have a better channel mix. They presently lack music channels. MTV Live HD is not enough. They should have at least MTV Southeast Asia and Channel [V].

They also lack those religious channels, like TBN and JCTV.

I hope they will invest more on satellite transponders so they can add more of these channels in the immediate future so that their channel lineup can be at par with what Sky offers.

whatever, that was the reply I got from them. this is the exact reply that I got from them.

Quote
"Cable systems in the Philippines still use analag technology. This means that the quality of the channels get compromised as the number of subscribers increase. As we grow and serve more customers, we are still dedicated to maintain and improve the quality of channels we offer"

I thought to my self, aren't they saying that they are DIGITAL?

I have a hunch for the reason behind the decrease in picture quality for the channels that I mentioned earlier. My hunch is that they are trying to fit in too many channels in one transponder that is why the picture quality gets compromised.

anyway, some of the channels I mentioned earlier are back to their picture quality before. my only complain now is for ABS-CBN, PTV, Studio 23, BTV and Solar Sports.

They can always sit down with ABS-CBN to address these access to direct feed problems. Though I figure it will cost Cignal big money on royalties and such. But then, we the subscribers deserve to have the clearest picture quality available since 1590 a month is not exactly cheap

MVP can't just sit down, he can even buy them.
but of course... who would like to give away their bread and butter?

imagine, if channel 2, 23 and cinemaone, balls and other Lopez channels available on Cignal?
who will want to subscribe with Sky?

btw, you cannot compare a satellite tv provider to a landline based cable provider. they are of totally different transmission and each has their pro and cons.

be happy with what you have, we are happy... imagine HD is available in the bondocks :)

If they would have better and cheaper service, I would.

nonetheless, you have a point. I literally live in the boondocks and am fortunate that Cignal can provide us with HD. We only used to have Dream Satellite and was feeling so sorry for myself until Cignal came ;D

When I bought my LED tv 2 years ago, I was thinking it does no good if your cable had no HD. So I bought a Cignal stb prepaid 590 to test the HD capability on my tv. I like what I saw but with only 3 HD channels(Starworld, NBA, GEM tv), it seems that something is lacking. And I subscribe again with 990 subscription cause History HD is in that category. The day that my 2nd stb was installed, History HD was scrapped by Cignal in lieu of other HD channels. And they did not had advance notice on their subscribers about the channel changes.

@ pentium, you cannot compare Cignal with Skycable. They had different " subscribers". Cignal subscribers that are located in the provinces most likely avail of Cignal just for their HD channels. Or else they might opt for Dream sat.

The nearest cable tv (from my location) that offers HD subscription is Parasat, which is located 90 kms away. In fact, if my memory serves me right, they are the 1st cable tv that goes digital..

Cignal should offer ala carte subscription. like all HD subscription. I really don't care much about their SD channels cause most of them are free to air anyway and we had a local cable here that carries most of those channels for 300/month.( and they offer it free cause they rented at our place where large dish occupies)..

And if you notice on your Cignal channels, only TV5 had no Cignal watermark. They were "free riding". TV5 gives away Cignal receiver to small cable tv that does not carry TV5 with no load expiration but channel-locked to TV5 and Aksyon tv..

I guess the beauty of the world we live in is that no one really forces which cable provider we suscribe to.
If we dont like it, simply dont get it or let go of it.

As for me, my destiny cable and internet have been regularly unreliable and very unclear ever since this sky cable buyout crap.

So looks like it's hello to bayan cable internet and cignal cable for me.

too bad, they buyout the old one and introduce their services at a higher price than what you have before. monopoly sucks.

SkyCable hasn't raised the service charge of Destiny Cable TV and Internet YET and SkyCable do not as what you posted, "intentionally introduce noise to the particular channel freq" of GMA-7.

In fact, SkyCable was able to obtain a very clear signal, clearer than the aerial feed of GMA-7.
If you think about competition, how come Cignal cannot obtain the same clear signal of GMA-7 that SkyCable has.

Again, mr. Pentium4, we know that you are a dealer of Cignal but badmouthing the competition as a way of supporting your product, definitely sucks and reflects what character you have.

Oh and btw, its not a yet a monopoly because there's still Cablelink, Cignal, Dream and G-SAT.

@jason13:you are too guilty...

Did I mention any brand on my quote of Son of Kratos?
Did I ? I was agreeing to his post because like what is happening in our area, Digitel is going out and PLDT is coming in. they will discontinue our existing lines and change to PLDT at a higher rate.

I believe in the advantages a product can offer, and you don't need to bad mouth a competing product just to sell them.

tell me, is Cignal TV and Sky Cable a competing product?
The answer is simply NO
Your competitor are Provincial Cable company while our competitor is GSat and Dream.
Ba't ba apektado ka masyado? magkaiba naman ang produkto ng dalawa.

What we are complaining here are the services of both party or any provider.
I don't care if I am a Dealer here or a Distributor or even an Owner of Cignal.
I post as a subscriber as well and helping out those who post here.

If you cannot accept what are being posted here, then you may just let it pass as this is a forum.
too bad, the Truth really hurts.

I am far away from guilty, napansin ka na nun sa SkyCable HD thread and you kept doing it on this thread.

Try to prove these posts of yours:

1. they intentionally introduce noise to the particular channel freq

2. they buyout the old one and introduce their services at a higher price than what you have before

The post of SonOfKratos is about Cable TV and Internet, cable tv provider ba ang PLDT at Digitel. It is obvious you are insinuating its Sky since you said monopoly sucks. Come on, a lot of people are also saying Sky is a monopoly.

If SkyCable is not a competitor then why does the product your selling show ads saying Cable TV "ay hindi-digital."

Both are Pay-TV companies so they still compete for the market share of those who want to avail of simply put, paid TV services. The difference is the delivery of the service.

If truth really hurts, why say negative things about the competitor and you said "I believe in the advantages a product can offer, and you don't need to bad mouth a competing product just to sell them. "

You just did bad mouth Sky a dozen times, geez, do you even know what you're posting. If Sky is not a competitor what's up with the baseless statements.

Todo reklamo na mga subs ng Cignal sa signal clarity ng local channels pero Todo tanggol ka and yet you cant give an exact explanation why Sky has clearer local channels which Cignal can't provide.

What ticks me off is you keep on posting baseless opinions just to market the product that you're selling which is clearly a sabotage.

And BTW, I only accept the truth and that is SkyCable has clearer, local channels than Cignal, I guess you cannot accept that.

Try to post helpful statements to Cignal subscribers instead of posting negative, baseless statments towards any other pay-tv provider, particularly Sky.

that should be auto updated.
try asking them on how to re-initialize your STB.

also, try restarting your STB if you haven't tried it yet.
unplug and reconnect power cable after 10min.
