is there any screen cap out there of how History HD really looks like?
May mga advertisements kasi sila na 4:3 ang scale at may pillarboxes, just like the ones on Star World HD etc..

Just like Al Jazzera, E! Channel and BeTV.... They do have ads showing in 4:3. If I had to jump between channels 109 and 25 or 47 or 60, there is no PQ change....

plan1590 here..as i see it historyHD is a real HD channel but 720p lang but its still an HD folks..actually lahat ng HD channel sa cignal are only 720p.

yup... 720p lang but it had the worst PQ among the HD channels (2nd only to Colours HD?)...

@columbia - yeah same as Colours HD ang pangit, i found out some of the history ch. programs are not real hd you would notice the history channel logo at the top right of the screen theres no HD in it sucks...

After upgrading the software of my Humax HD STB early this month, I can only get stereo and not dolby 5.1 on all HD channels. Tried changing the setting (Menu > User Setup > Audio > Dolby) but nothing happened. When I go back to the Menu settings, it's back to PCM. Any one of you experienced this?

anyway their dolby surround is ugly overrated delay setting even at the lowest setting 20msec. resulting to much hall effect i might as well set my box to PCM.

I emailed Cignal's costumer service yesterday, inquiring if channel 109 is really an HD channel, not an upscaled SD in 16:9 format. Their response was:

"Yes, History channel is indeed HD.

What about the resolution settings?

Feel free to let us know if there is anything else that needs clarification.

So I watch History channel again, trying to observe something. Then I notice that " Pawn Stars" will be "simulcast" in History and History HD..

I assume Miss Glaisa did not know about it..

Well I read somewhere here that History HD is just an upscaled SD for now.. and that Cignal will finally switch to HD once its available.

Also I'm hoping that in the future, Cignal will have a record feature so you won't miss any of your fave tv shows.

mines the other way around... im stuck at dolby instead of being able to switch to pcm... whats the best box ba? pace? humax?

I contacted Cignal thru Twitter and asked what resolution is their source for History HD ch. 109 and according to them it is actually 1080i, though it lacks the History HD logo.

I'm just happy with History channel

before it has the HD logo on it and history hd ads are always present.
and I love history than the historyhd programs before.
i don't know if they have adopted the same program on both format.

pwede ko po ba ipaactivate un account ko sa TP ko kay shantel nagpaupgrade me ng plan 590 prepaid to postpais 790, ok na po un requirement and already paid the one month advance. tiniwagan po ako ng technical ng cignal nun pero hindi paring activate un account binigay nya po un bago acct number ko then wait 1 day until now wala pa po.. my maitutulong po ba un TP ko shantel regarding dito sa activation ko

sir, go straight to Cignal 02 2446251 and give your old and new acct# provided by TP.
they can update you with status and activation of new acct.

thanks sir.. as for the ff up question, whats the better box? humax or pace? my brother has the pace box, and it looks better.. (at least the remote does)

well, we cannot choose the type of box you can get.
they will give you the latest available box at the time of installation.

humax is good, but it is bulky
pace is okay, remote sucks prior to the latest release

so far, Pace is okay now. some are just not properly oriented on the multifunction remote.

Hi guys, anyone here from taguig area? 3 days na ako hindi sinisipot ng skycable installers e. planning on cancelling then go to cignal plan 790. Parang mas maganda pa channel line up ng cignal.

Plan790 is good
you can get it free install with a smart or sun postpaid plan or get it from SM appliance.
plus you get 3 months free pa
so, you just pay the one month advance fee.

I saw a full-page ad from Cignal today - something about Dolby 5.1 sound on HD channels. But I'm experiencing the same issue whenever I select Dolby (instead of PCM) on the Audio Settings of my STB (Pace): I don't get audio from HD channels like HBO HD or NBA Premium. I'd gladly join the email brigade to Cignal about this.

Then pwede bang magsubscribe ako ng bagong 790 tapos yung 590 prepaid ko ay gamiting extension pra hindi na ako magbabayad ng 230 for lease or 5K++ para sa box??? Kasi para dehado ako if I converted my 590 to 790 kc 5590 bili ko sa box...Thanks in Advance...

Before the inclusion of the 10 new channels, only Fox Movies premium was on Dolby 5.1. it was the only channel in Cignal that has 5.1 audio. But the last time I checked(just about last week) FOX movies premium no lnger have the 5.1 audio. The other HD channels are also not in 5.1 and HBO HD audio simply sucked.
