Sir P4, you mean, the "real" History HD broadcast has no HD in the station ID? Is the Cignal History right now in HD na?

History HD is now okay with me...

It was also confirmed that no HD logo on the History logo exist unlike on the past History HD channel.
both SD and HD are now simulcast.

@pao: nice item :)

I just scan/surf the HD channels on plan 990. Here's the audio output according to my AVR.

1. Food Network--- pcm
2. Colours----------pcm
3. HBO--------------DD ex6.1
4. Nat Geo Adv-----pcm
5. History-----------pcm
6. Fox Crime-------DD ex6.1
7. SyFy-------------pcm
8. StarWorld-------DD ex6.1
9. CNN-------------DD ex6.1
10. NBA------------DD ex6.1
11. ESPN-----------DD 2Ch
12. Fashion--------DD ex6.1
13. Outdoor--------DD ex6.1

Thanks for the lead, sir. Finally got the Dolby sound from the STB to work thru my AVR too. Got the same audio output, including PCM for NatGeo "HD" and History "HD".

I think Cignal should think of adding up on HD movie channels like Cinemax HD and Star movies HD.

So far Cinemax HD is not available across Asia, and Star Movies HD became FOX Movies Premium HD one year ago. The Star movies brand only exists in two countries now, India and The Philippines and is only available in Standard Definition.

@pentium, im not a subscriber yet but im on research mode for pros and cons at may nabasa ako na ang STB increase our electric bills significantly.

1. so, w/c brand of STB with lowest energy consumption on "stand by/ operation mode" for HD plan?
2. if u unplugged the unit, how long ba ang pag reboot?
3. clarification, for 2 boxes, the primary STB must be ON always to be able to watch on the 2nd box, tama ba?

-2 brand ginagamit na STB sa mga HD plans either humax or pace. as of now, pace ang ginagamit. accdg to my research lately mas matipid sa kuryente ang pace pumapalo ng 30w max. yung actual nasa 15-20 watts yan. but not so sure.

-i usually pull the plug every night before going to sleep. the reboot time mga 5-6 secs.

-yes either naka-on or standby but not shutoff primary kung ginagamit ang 2nd/3rd boxes.

Hi,

Can anyone help me on how to set this up, uhm I want to fully utilize the devices on our house.
This are what I have:
-TV (40 inch BX400 Series BRAVIA LCD TV ) (http://www.sony.co.in/product/klv-40bx400/specs)
-HT (DAV-DZ570) (http://www.sony-mea.com/product/dav-dz570/specs)
-STB (Cignal 790 hd) (PACE-HD)

What I want is to setup our HT to be able to produce the 5.1 surround sound that cignal hd offers.

My current setup is STB->hdmi->TV->RCA(audio)->HT (but this doesn't produce surround sound), I also tried switching the sound mode on my STB to dolby, but our tv is not compatible with it, it says "unsupported audio cignal"(dolby 5.1).

I called up the cignal hotline regarding this and they told me to make the HT on the middle of my setup, like this ( STB->HT->TV). the problem is my HT only has HDMI-OUT. Please help me what cables or connectors do I need to be able to get this done :)

I provided the specs of my HT and TV, for you guys to know what cables and connectors I need.

To summarize this up:

I Just need the cable and connectors for this setup:

STB ----> HT ----> TV  (SURROUND SOUND)

Also if you can recommend on where to buy this stuff, please let me know :)

Can be near Cavite or Alabang :)

Thanks a lot.

Oh BTW, I'm just a new Cignal 790HD plan subs :) hope to win one of those 77 TV. hehehe

^ I'm not an expert on these things and not sure if this helps, but I was able to make the Dolby audio setting on my Pace STB work recently by using a digital coaxial cable connection, via the digital audio out port (orange) of the Pace STB to the digital audio in port of my AVR. Presumably, your HT has a similar port for incoming digital audio signals. In effect, I just diverted the audio coming from my STB directly to my AVR to get the Dolby sound, while the video signal from the STB continues to go to my TV via the HDMI connection.

@Wiggum:

Thanks bro, as far as I know my HT(AVR) has a coax in.
also based in the links of specs(http://www.sony-mea.com/product/dav-dz570/specs) I provided. It says there that audio line in/out (coax).

Where did you buy your Coax cable? any brand can you suggest? also how much does it cost? (lol so much questions  ^-^ )

Thanks again!

@heineken:

I think you're pertaining to the HT(home theater). If I'm not mistaken that's a kind of AVR :).
I just don't know what connections should I use. And as what sir Wiggum said, I think that's what I need. anyway thanks also for your opinion :) KUDOS to you :)
