up to ilang degrees to an extent lang ba siya dapat mawala sa clear reception?

just want to ask, yung 1st box po ba on stand by mode lang para accessible pa rin yung 2nd box?..kasi pag ino off yung 1st box wala na ring signal yung 2nd box?

Dapat walang dependency because the feed should have the split prior to any of the boxes.

it has dependency...  unlike cable tv wherein you simply use splitter.
satellite tv uses LNB that should be powered up in order to receive a signal.
thus, on multiple box setup, only ONE box should supply the LNB. the rest are dependent on the main box.

Main box should be plugged IN, on standby (not required to be powered ON, unless you'll be watching on that particular TV) for other unit to work.

It is also possible to work without the dependency but it will require a device mostly used in multi dwelling unit.

Sa setup ko wala naman problema na ganyan na need standby yung isa. Eto setup ko from satelite sa labas may splitter na going to the sala and going to the second floor. The second floor may splitter din going to HT room and powder room. So far kahit patay yung nasa sala nakakanood naman kami sa master bedroom hindi naka standby mode yung nasa sala.  ;) ;)

you mean both of your STBs naka on ang LNB powering? yes it will work without special device kaya lang hindi adviceable kasi in the long run pwedeng may masira.

AFAIK, powering the LNB on applies if the signal that was received was transmitted on Horizontal and Vertical polarity. Cignal's satellite signal are (were) now transmitted on just one polarity, horizontal. 7 transponders on SES-7, all horizontal..

nice info to check. sa ngayon kasi i can not watch pag off ang LNB powering maybe because i have line amplifier installed. will try to unplug the line amp and turn off LNB powering then let's see...

how about the other way around? patay yong sa master bedroom then try mong manood sa living room. pag di ka nakapanood then ok lang yan. it means ang main box mo yong nasa master bedroom.

it didn't work. so LNB really needs power.

then that's not good. better correct it before it's too late.

may 1 year na ba yang setup mo? kasi kung more than a year na at wala namang nasisira, gagayahin ko na rin yan. btw, madalas mo bang gamitin ng sabay yong boxes mo?

Yes 1 year na yung setupmko no issue naman. Ou madals namin gamit kasi si misis madalas sa sala nanood pag work siya ng weekend and ako naman sa master. Alam ko may nag post din dito na ganyan na din setup nung box niya nung kumuha siya ng second box no need na naka standby or on yung isang box nila feeling ko setup talaga ng cignal na ganun yung settings ng boxes na deploy nila sa new customers.

I added 2 additional boxes for my 2 tvs. Individual connection na pala sya and no need to always open the 1st box for signal access of the 2 extensions. Now waiting for the signal after 2 days.

Cignal or Sir Pentium should clarify this lnb powering issue, so us cignal subscribers with multiple hd boxes would be well informed. in my case kasi sabi nung nag install kelangan main box lang ang naka on ang lnb powering kse masisira daw pag madaming box sabay naka on ang lnb powering. i just installed cignal a few months ago. pakilinaw namn cignal, sir pentium. what is the official stance of cignal?

1st hand experience with the additional boxes here. I know because I just recently added two boxes (1 week ago).
I do not need to plug in, open or on stand by the 1st box for me to watch on the 2nd and 3rd box. They work independently from each other.

The splitter was done before the first box. Whatever plan you have, your dish will supply it to your boxes 1, 2 and 3, individually and independently. Now I pay 1,290 + 230 + 230 = 1,750.

Please note, it is the other way around.
The box supply the DC power to the LNB for you to receive the signal.

the LNB is rated 13-15VDC
that is the reason why on basic residential set-up. only 1 STB should be in LNB powering.
why? do the math... all STB in LNB powering would mean 13V/18V coming from each STB going to the same LNB.
we used to install DC block on secondary units to make sure no power will be provided to main box even when you do a factory reset. it is now mitigated by software switch function that is LNB powering.

Also, the satellite splitter being used is a power divider "ALL PORTS POWER PASSING"
that means, it lets any power coming into the "OUT" ports to the only "IN" port.

So, it is possible and very likely that boxes with LNB Powering ON on all STB setup are viewing them not at the same time.

For me, I will stick with the Main ON, secondary OFF setup. All ON setup may damage your 1. Splitter , 2. LNB or 3. STB (should be ok, if under warranty ;)

btw, this is my personal opinion as subscriber and does not reflect CignalTV as service provider.  thanks
