yup, this is the newest model of egreat, not necessarily the best, that's why its cheaper than the other egreats its because, it cant support an internal hdd. but aside from that it basically function like the other egreats. but for 7.5k, its a very good buy.

its egreat's take on the wdtv but it retained its network capabilities unlike the wdtv, no internal hdd, no network capability either. kaya mas mahal pa rin ng konti ang egreat. but defnitely more stable than wdtv.

You can connect a SATA drive to the sata port pero nasa labas yun sya. if you have the unit in a secure place, then non-issue yung hard drive.

Just got mine too yesterday, ganda!!!

No experience from other good NMTs, WD TV lang meron ako dati which I sold recently.

Daming good features agad compared to the WD TV I had before:
Solid built
faster response of Menu, though slower start up time (non-issue for me)
Mybook external drive faster load time
better remote
better zooming options
sound quality (via analog stereo out, higher detail and no hiss)
SATA drive option
Included free HDMI and optical cables, but no free remote batteries
All files played are smooth! no pixelizations or stuttering which once in a while happened with my WD TV

More features that I haven't touched yet- DTS downmix future firmware update, Networking, torrent apps, other downloadable content, etc!

Bottom line sulit na sulit for P7500 group purchase buy! Thanks ehome for the wonderful deal! Nice chatting with you richie!

Initial impressions?

not used to the metal body, got worried at first because the unit gets hot waaay faster than my wd hd tv...

I'm coping by imagining that the casing is one big heatsink

pq SEEMS slightly more grainy than the wd, but it has none of the wd's pixelation bugs with fast moving scenes... and colors are definitely more vibrant...

there has been one major hiccup so far though... i tried playing my big 1080p files first, and the m34a
would randomly skip and stutter with no sound... i've been informed by Richie that this can be resolved by formatting the drive to EXT3... Suddenly regretting selling my other 1tb mybook last night... wala akong malipatan ng files before formatting

what is EXT3? not the same as NTFS?
