Mabuhay!

I would just like to share with you guys my first-ever big screen TV.

The PV8

without camera lights

Equipments:
PV8
Pioneer DV610
NextBase 5.1 HTIB
Midol 500wattsAVR (to power the PV8 only)
2 pcs lightning arrestors

---one for the main cable before the split

---another one for the panny

Though my setup is very very simple but i am very very happy with it. I would like to thank my sister for this beautiful TV.

I am really liking what i am seeing.

Mga firsts na ginawa ko :

1) sinunod ko ang literature kung ano gagawin bago buksan since first ko ngang humawak ng ganitong equipment.

2) Nag-play ako ng mga movies na fullscreen kasi nabasa ko mas maganda raw ganito muna kasi para iwas BIs and RIs and to activate kung ano naman ang dapat i-activate sa panel.

3) I set all systems pati sa DVD ko nasa half-way or low setting for break-in daw.

Challenges :
1) Cable viewing is difficult and maingay (di talaga ma-view) since yung TV mismo ang nag-automatic na maghanap ng mga channels. Paano nyo po na-solve ang problem na ito po?

2) Tapos po, sa DVD player ko po, nawala yung adjustments ng speakers kung large or small ang size. Is this normal?

3) Mukhang may pagkakaiba ata talaga ang mga R1s na DVD compared sa mga R3s na nabibili ko.

Any tips for a newbie like me?

sa ganda ng tv (video) mo, aba eh, bakit naman ipagkakait mo ang kapares na ganda ng tunog (audio)?

Another question :
1) Yung sa AVR ko po merong nakalagay sa likod nya na socket (output 220v) aside pa ito sa mga saksakan sa harap tapos yung socket sa likod tamang-tama para sa electrical connection ng TV po. Tapos sa likod ko po kinabit yung electrical cord ng TV po kasi naubusan ako ng adaptor. Ok lang po ba iyong ginawa ko?

2) May nakita po akong cable booster sa mall-based hardware stores which goes for as low as 800+. Tapos yung pinaka-mataas na frequency ata na pwede nyang i-output ay 24Db pero based doon sa binasa kong thread tungkol sa cable boosters a good one should provide at least 100Db. So meron po ba ditong naka-try ng sinasabi ko pong gadget? Is it a good buy?

Ask ko lang po:

Nung naka-HDMI cable na po yung DVD player po napansin ko humina yung tunog ng Nextbase 5.1 ko po bakit po kaya ganoon? I mute the sound ng TV kapag naka-on na yung NB ko kaya pansin ko na humina yung tunog or limitation po ba ito talaga ng mga ganitong speakers po.

Thank you all for the kind words ulit.

Mag-ask lang po ako since i have an old PS2 slim, ok lang po ba itong gamitin sa PV8? May nakita po akong optical cable kaya lang yung PV8 wala naman syang button for that. Paano po kaya ma-improve ang visuals and i am also planning to use it as DVD movie player since i rarely play with it....POP lang ang nilalaro ko doon. ehehe

Tapos just wanna know your opinions po :
May nakita po akong SONY na component yung 5.1 nila that sells around 35k. Does anyone own that model ng sony? ok po ba syang pang HT ?

= wdtv = 5.5k

those prices does not include the hard drive yet, add between 3-6k for hdd sizes 320gb - 1tb

pj = 720p 3lcd or dlp pjs w/ hdmi now cost around 40-60k
= 1080p 3lcd pjs w/ hdmi = 100k above

add around 10-12k more for the pj mount, screen cable, etc.

hmmm... htib. for 35k you can get a good pre-owned avr and some 4 bookshelves speakers and a center channel.

wharfedale diamond 9.1 bookshelves = 5.3k / pair, 2 pairs = 10.6k

i think a wharfdale diamond center = 7.5k

that's roughly 35k, although you still lack a hdmi dvd player and a sub woofer. for the hdmi dvd player, you can get a philips or pioneer for 4-5k then a sub, if you go us audio 8" cost around 5k and a 12" cost around 8K.

but the message is to save some more money to get separate components rather than go htib, its much more flexible and in the end, definitely sound better.

or if you want it to be more complicated. you can look at this link..... excellent speakers!!!

Avoid HTIB na. This was a set-up I was originally thinking of:

9.1 5.3k
9.dfs 4.3k May 9.0 rin ang theaterworks as of last weekend. Less than 4k.
9.cs 4.3k

Less than 14k yan. For the price of the sony HTIB you still have 21k budget. Kasyang kasya yan.
