I've been googling this question but no answer yet: is a player credited with an assist if he passes to a teammate who is then fouled in the act of shooting, misses the shot but makes the two free throws?

And what's up with CS9?  It seems like they're launching a new format tom. May NBA pa rin ata.

assists are only credited after a made basket.

JAMISON TO CAVS
Cavs trade pairs LeBron James with Jamison in three-team deal
February 17, 2010 08:51 PM EST

Just when you think LeBron James and the Cavs can't get any better, they go ahead and trade for Antawn Jamison in a three-team deal.  This trade clearly puts the Cavs as the frontrunners to win the NBA championship this year.

Earlier in the day, when it became clear that Amar'e Stoudemire had no interest in coming to the Cavs, the Cavs turned their attention to Antawn Jamison of the Washington Wizards.  In total, 6 players were moved in a 3 team trade that also included the Los Angeles Clippers.

Cleveland is sending center Zydrunas Ilgauskas and a first-round pick to Washington. The Wizards will receive center Brian Skinner and forward Al Thornton from the Clippers. The Cavs will also get guard Sebastian Telfair from Los Angeles. The Clippers will get Drew Gooden from the Wizards.

di naman, they get to dump martin's huge long term contract 45m/4yrs and upgraded kenny thomas (old and expensive) to carl landry (young and cheap) and huge cap when tmac's 23M contract expires, plus they are only commited 28M to tyreke, casspi, greene, thompson and hawes, a very good job by their gm imho this is the way to rebuild.

Martin can be the main scorer. Ariza, backup like he used to. I think he's more effective doing that.

Not really.  Martin plays the 2 while Ariza plays the 3.  They actually compliment each other.

kevin martin is a pure offensive 2 guard while ariza is primarily is a 3 (small forward) and both will start.

tmac will be traded again (to the knicks as some reports) or be bought out.
he is done as a superstar nba player, but not as a decent player he can still play ball he just needs minutes
but i guess he'll get that next season, parang grant hill

The Cavs getting Antawn Jamison's a very good move. They need a reliable 4 & Varejao can do his thing off the bench. Z on the other hand will be waived by the Wizards & will be re-signed after 30 days.

The Telfair move to me is not a good one because he (like Delonte West & Boobie Gibson) is a combo guard. A defensive stopper would've been a big plus since a showdown with the Orlando Magic (a team loaded with perimeter & long range gunners) is inevitable.

eto na naging 3 team trade na.

Knicks get
-Sergio Rodriguez
-Tmac

Rockets get
-Kevin Martin
-Hilton Armstrong
-Jordan Hill
-Jared Jeffries
-future picks

Kings get
-Carl Landry
-Larry Hughes
-Joey Dorsey

with the trade the Knicks have open salary space to sign 2 FA superstar (Lebron/Wade)

For this season, I think Cleveland is clearly the big winner among all the teams that traded.  Lebron is now surrounded by some very solid, complementary players - Shaq, Mo Williams, Jamison, Hickson, Varejao, West, Gibson, Parker, Moon...  :o  Mahihirapan na talaga ang Boston and Orlando against the Cavs come playoff time.  Baka matuloy na ang Dream Finals ng NBA, ABC and Nike: King James vs. the Black Mamba.  ;D

I think Sacramento helped themselves more than Houston in their trade with NY.  Tyreke Evans will now have full control of the team, and Landry is the frontcourt player they needed.  On the other hand, Kevin Martin is going to a team which already has a lot of offensive options, including a scoring PG.  Parang magulo.

Miami and Phoenix could have made big trades, but decided to stay put.  These could be crucial "non-moves" come the off-season.

And speaking of next season, yup - the Knicks are looking good.  If they add an All-Star guard like Wade or Joe Johnson to team up with Lee, Gallinari, Chandler, Harrington, NY should at least return to the playoffs next year.
