the fight would go to either man. though the mauler had jones for most of the fight with his crisp counters, jones still landed more significant shots especially the spinning elbow in the 4th. and jones is still the aggressor, which is one of the judges basis in scoring a round. but still, the score shouldnt be that lopsided. it should have been atleast a split decision. damn those judges! wasted the effort of gus.
sir tirso on paper glover is more decorated. he is unbeaten for quite sometime and has vicious g n p. and bjj. shogun ducks this guy because he knows how vicious this dude is so he opted to fight with gus. but he doesnt have the reach that gustaf has. but glover is a known destroyer. he can beat jones to the punch. i think that is what gus lacks. he didnt engage when he has to.
i was expecting a draw actually kung may ganun ngang jdugement sa UFC, pero yung pag takbo takbo ni Gus might have caused him this fight although sa intindi ko, part ng defense nya yun, I have never seen a fighter able to defend a take down that consistently, parang sa 12th attempt lang ni Jones na takedown si Gus at naka wala din agad. What caught me really is the kind of arsenal meron si Jones, ang daming moves, yung pag ikot nya to avoid trouble nung nahawakan yung paa nya, kakaiba din.
about glover, kung di sya kasing tangkad ni Gus at di sing haba, baka yun ang maging disadvantage nya with Jones, dito bumanat ng husto si Gus di ba? nagamit nya ng husto yung tangkad at reach nya kaya lahat ng suntok nya sapol sa mukha si Jones.Is glover as good in ducking takedowns?
