By the way, some people are saying that Hendricks tapped out in the first round? Had to check it pero wala akong makita pang replay.

Did Johny Hendricks tap out in UFC 167 headliner? Evidence is thin at best

http://mmajunkie.com/2013/11/17/did-johny-hendricks-tap-out-in-ufc-167-headliner-evidence-is-thin-at-best/

I haven't seen UFC 167 yet, I'm so eager to watch it and give my comments, sana mapanood ko later.

It wasnt a tap....ive watch the fight twice sa balls...nabakabilis na tap for a choke ...it was never a tight choke as he was defending it....kung kimura submission baka maniwala pa ako...those gsp fans can look it that way...pero if your watching it without having favor to either fighter then you can even judge the fight

tapsilog meron sa kanto...hendricks should have justice and not gsp....  I belive the effort to smash gsp face was more than enough to fellow ufc fighters to know who clearly won the fight... But then again it was the judges and it was not gsp.....    Buhay ang vegas sa mga bet...vegas can kill ufc samething they did to boxing...

just saw what you're referring to. hehe pwede....

after watching the 1st round comparing to the gif image i saw before that. i dont think its a tap nga. choke was too loose, may transition movement din during.

3rd round now...love that big rig smile kada simula!

it was a disappointing loss to Big Rig but a more disappointing win for GSP. hindi iyon yung panalong iiwan at tatanggapin mo before retiring kung yun nga ang plano ni GSP.

iyak si Big Rig patapos ng interview, he earned it and it was stolen from him he says. cant blame him.

parang ang hirap nga i-judge but thats the game, i dont think babawiin pa o mababago pa yung naging result.

rematch na lang so both fighters can prove what they need to prove. antayin natin magiging developments...

i think it was a toss up on round 1, neither fighter really dominated that round so decision could have gone either way. it was a close decision but not really controversial for me.

watched the fight again but this time without audio. Minsan kasi exagge si rogan. disappointing win for gsp but i think he won, plus hendricks definitely tapped in round 1 but as to why he tapped, i don't know!

just my 2 cents!

matt brown vs gsp naman!

Looks like GSP was not in a good position to choke Hendrick and make him tap.

GSP won that fight. Hendricks just didn't do enough to TAKE the belt. GSP was the aggressor and hendricks just coasted especially in the 5th round. plus may stats din tinitignan yung mga judge since hindi naman to strongest puncher na contest.

about the tap, nakita ko din yung sa live fight. and he did tap.

hihihihihi......      Why should he tap for a choke that was not deep enough to submit him and very quick tap for such...ini issue nalang ng nga gsp fan boy yang pagtap na yan....para hindi naman dehado si gsp...

the man who busted gsp'd face deserves a rematch...ayaw mo na bang labanan ni gsp si hendricks? Maybe this time makapag hands ng ayos si gsp without personal problems...

parehas tayo hehe...natural born killer...  Hopefully matt brown vs condit then the winner to hendricks vs gsp rematch if may bird pa si gsp for a rematch....

yun nga eh. according to UFC rules:

Effective striking is judged by determining the total number of legal strikes landed by a contestant.

kung sumuntok si hendricks 5x tapos basag mukha ni GSP, pero sumuntok naman si GSP 10x more kahit na mas damage mukha nya, based on the rules and stats panalo pa rin si GSP.

that's GSP a very cerebral fighter.deserves the title.

Finally saw the match GSP vs Hendricks last night, as I've said in my previous posts, to be the champ the challenger should win decisively, the judges will not just hand over the belt kung very slim margin lang ang lamang ng challenger, open secret naman 'yan sa boxing at mma. Look at Ben Henderson vs Gilbert Melendez and Bones vs The Mauler.

Pag tiningnan mo 'yung damage, mas gulpi si GSP, pero sa tingin ko mas madami nakuhang puntos sa striking si GSP, hindi masyado nag utilize ng kick si Hendricks. Best result should be a "draw", but I don't see Hendricks winning that fight.

Im not gonna argue...again im not a hendricks fanatic....  For sure madaming gsp fanatic as he dominates his div for a few years ....its hard to watch the fight over and over when your in favor or gsp... The deciding factor was the first round nd both of them has similar in striking stats....other gives gsp round 3only.. I give gsp 3 and 5...   Lets move on na and wait for the next battle.... In the end panalo si gsp and he will retire he stated...if not then a rematch is on its way

I guess the damage he took from Hendricks was bad for him to think about walking away.

As expected, Hendricks outboxed GSP. At the start of round 1, I thought GSP would out-wrestle Hendricks, but he couldn't keep Hendricks down even throughout the entire fight and did not do any significant damage.  Hendricks stuck to his wrestling roots, training with his old NCAA coach, and this proved to be valuable as he stopped most of GSP's takedown attempts.  Biggest difference was Hendricks power and unexpected speed - was surprised he was doing counters and combinations after a takedown attempt.  He might have been hit flush at times, but no marks on his face and people like him are like Big Country - does not seem to be bruised, busted or rocked.

All praise to the "should-be" winner coming from a self-confessed GSP fan.  GSP was outclassed in most aspects of the fight.

GSP landed more strikes, hard or not it scores a point. There wasn't a round that I saw Johny on the offensive, it was always GSP moving forward.
