Wamphster's evolution of Room theater and HTPC combined

Way back in the Philippines









First set-up in Singapore







Next set-up upon moving house in Singapore









Current seup-up, however 32" Sammy was already replaced by 42" LG Full HD LCD TV (no pictures yet)

Old school na yung soundcard ko pero i think one of the best...Chaintech AV-710 7.1 channel with Envy HT chipset.  Ganda ng labas ng Mids and Highs...and ofcourse specialty nya ang Low frequency kaya deep bass ang mararamdaman mo...

I suggest this soundcard, but i don't know it it's still available...

Yes if only the Sammy 32 incher is full HD, hindi ko na sana papalitan ok lang yung size nya for the room.
But time came na i am in need of the benefit of a full HD that's why pinalitan ko na sya...

I'm eyeing on this Combo, any comment and what's your choice?

Blu-ray LG BD390 and Denon AVR2310 receiver

Or

Oppo BDP 83 Blu-ray and Onkyo TX-SR806 receiver

i'd go with the oppo as the player. for the receiver, i think both brands are good. you wont go wrong with any of them. although i think the denon might be more expensive.

Thanks, concerrn ko lang kasi with the oppo is that I already have a Denon 1930 upscaling DVD player with Faroudja chip upscaling video processing though yung Oppo uses VRS video processing...and I'm thinking kasi wala akong ethernet cable sa room ko thus wifi capability of the LG is a consideration...Although kung talagang significant ang difference between the video quality between this two players I would really go for Oppo but kung hindi naman gaano kalayo video quality LG na ako.

As for the receiver, I am currently using Onkyo TX SR505 and performance is OK naman, and the TX SR806 is THX certified, but i read nice reviews for the AVR2310 and the fact that I have a Denon DVD player that can match the receiver...Ohhh, now i realized since my LCD TV was replaced also by LG... I think this would be a perfect match....

LG 42LH35 Full HD LCD TV combined with LG BD390 Blu-ray player then
Denon 1930 upscaling DVD player with Denon AVR2310 receiver

any comment?  For bang for the bucks and performance
