Are you using this as a standalone player or as external player for XBMC?

as a stand alone po @ nerveblocker..

The stuttering sounds happen at the start of the program when you play the file or does it happen in the middle of playback? Is the audio the only one stuttering or both audio and video?

It must be a driver problem.

What are the specs of your PC?  Dedicated video card or onboard? Maybe your proc can't handle Splash Pro specially if TruMotion is ticked.

With your specs, I think you have more than enough to process full HD videos.  When you say SPDIF do you mean HDMI audio? Try to update your AMD to the latest drivers.  It worked for me when I was using PowerDVD.  There was also stuttering playback until I updated to the latest driver.

These might help:

Nope, not thru HDMI it's thru this fibre optic cable. I am using a usb hardware from creative that has an optical/spdif out using a toslink cable? that goes in my receiver.

Try some other form of audio output like analog.  If it plays flawlessly, there might be some compatibility issues with the program and your USB hardware.  Driver update perhaps of your USB device. Maybe you can try other programs like MPC-HC, XBMC just to test if they can output digital audio thru your device flawlessly. Just to isolate if it is indeed a hardware or software problem.

Raising the dead..

I was introduced to this player and I may have to watch my fave movies again as it looks really good.

My questions are:
1.If I output it to hdmi, will the movie look as good in a bigger screen?
2. What are the other programs similar to this that are also top rated?
3. Are there NMTs that can do this?

Tried this last night. I notice that the color is a bit dark and softer, not similar to the computer output but can easily be adjusted on the TV settings. Instant SOE without the need of TV upgrade!

It's not any different in my experience. If anything, I like it a bit better.

I resurrected my HTPC and downloaded the latest version Splash. Amazing and stunning PQ! I just placed the Motion plus feature though in the lowest level. I got dizzy when playing it in a high setting on my PJ! A UHD display upgrade will just have to wait.

In demo mode. Left side of the bar normal, right side with splash enhancement
