Try to check you're TV. Malamang hindi sya multi system. Kailangan mo kasi tv dapat multi system para maging colored ang viewing mo.

In your DVD player, go to Video Settings then set to PAL.  Usually it's set to NTSC or Multi.

Pero dapat your TV set should be MULTI din para mag play ang PAL.  If not, ala ka magagawa diyan.

kung black and white ang picture na lumalabas sa tv, most probably multi system tv mo dahil from my experience, walang picture na makikta when you view movies from a pal source. so most probably nasa player mo ang key.  follow the directions sa above post and you're ok.

The video system of your TV is NTSC, so video input should also be NTSC.  If video input is PAL, you will usually get a hazy black & white picture that rolls vertically.

Your DVD player is capable of NTSC or PAL and can convert video sources from NTSC to PAL and vice-versa.

System selections of your DVD player are NTSC, PAL and AUTO.  The default setting is AUTO, which means that an NTSC source will be output as NTSC, and a PAL source will be output as PAL.

You have to change the DVD player's system setting to NTSC.  Your manual has instructions for changing the system setting.

You will have to use the player's buttons, not the buttons on the remote.  Start with standby mode, press and hold forward button, then press power button to turn on.  Changes will cycle through PAL, NTSC and AUTO.

When the DVD player is set to NTSC, it will always output in NTSC.  An NTSC source will be output in NTSC, but a PAL source will first be converted to NTSC by the player internally, then output to the TV in NTSC.

Most DVD players have lot of settings  from Video to Audio, so take time to navigate and play around with other audio settings that might enhance the music output to your own taste....  ;D

Anthem Pre1
Audio Linear TT
Ortofon Rondo Red
Theta Dac
GTA SE-40 Amp

"Hold power then forward"?  Di ba "Hold forward then power"?

Here's a manual for XV-GX3:

http://safemanuals.com/user-guide-instructions-owner-manual/PIONEER/XV-GX3%20@@%20S-GX3V-_E

Page 33 says:
1 If necessary, switch into standby. This is necessary if you want to access the System Setup menu options in standby below.
2 Press SYSTEM SETUP (SHIFT+HOME MENU).
3 Use (cursor left/right) to choose the setting then press ENTER.

Page 34 says:
• After selecting TV SYS in step 3 above, press ENTER to change the TV system.
