Got my copy from Astro SM North Edsa. They are not displaying the merchandise but you have to ask for it from the counter. The salesgirl remembered me from previous orders and asked if I am availing of the promo (what promo?), i said no and will pay for the full retail of P1200.

She proceeded in issuing me the invoice placing Pinoydvd[/d] to Sold to line. (She remembered me from the Time Machine promo  :D  )
She then bagged the disk placed the receipt and immediately placed something else - A T-shirt! Without me asking for it!

No thats what I call Pinoydvd clout  ;D ;D

BTW, I noticed another shopper perusing an opened copy of LOTR at the counter for any scratches. I didn't hear  kung tinawaran (baka member din dito :D :D )

Mukhang Astrovision lang ang nagdi-distribute ng LOTR DVD.  Meron ba silang tie-up with C-Interactive.  Most of the other video/music stores I've been to only carry the VCD and VHS formats.

Video City, also, has the DVD version, pero as expected, out of stock na.
Baka in two weeks daw sila uli magkaka-stock ng DVDs nito. Same as in Astro.

At Astrovision Alabang Town Center yesterday, they said that they still had 40 copies of LOTR FOTR. They may have sold that by today. :-\

Is there any word on other New Line releases as well as the extended versions of LOTR FOTR? ???

Can someone post C-Interactive's email address? Thanks 8)

Do any of you you've bought the 2-disc LOTR still plan on getting the 4-disc/5-disc set coming in November?

 ;D

I've actually preordered the 4 disc set sa Amazon.

Yung 5 disc, if ever may pera pa.  Or if somebody from our reliable marketplace sellers (PARC, charbit, benny or EbtgMike among others) bring in the 5 disc and the price is tempting  ;D ;) 8).

Now my problem will be how to justify the purchases with my wife  ::) ???

i've just had my 3rd viewing of the LOTR 2 disc set. bitin talaga!! my favorite part of the special features is the special preview of two towers... i kept getting goosebumps and i still get goosebumps now. haaayyy... now if i can convince my dad to get the 4 disc set (since the 5 disc would be too ridiculous for him).

Hey, guys and gals!
I was at Astrovision Virramall a few hours ago, and they now have brand new stocks of the LOTR DVDs.
Yup, region 1 pa rin sya.
I didnt ask how many was in stock, though, pero ng makita ko sa display shelves nila, there were 3 copies.
Im waiting for the 4 or 5 disc set, pero talagang tempting bilhain itong 2 disc set.
FYI lang po. ;D

is it true that if you pre-prder the 4-disc set from amazon, you'll only have to pay a little less than $30? sounds tempting... what's the real retail price anyway (or how much will astrovision sell it for when it hits the phils.?)

Yes, that's the Canadian version.  If you look at the back of the DVD cover, you will see another version of the cover where the French title is bigger than the English title.

it's $25.99 in Amazon, less STL, $2.6, add some more items to make it $49 to avail the free shipping within US and apply $5 gift coupons.... :)

Ship it here via US mailbox or Johnny Air...  ; :D

Even the Canadian R1 widescreen version (whic I have) is also like this.  Note that what I'm referring to in my previous post is the reverse side of the cover.

Hiya, Sungit! I'm not familiar with the coupons and discounts from Amazon but if you're looking for a US mail box --- check the US Mailbox promo (click on the banner beside the pinoydvd logo), they have an ongoing promo for Pinoydvd members. ;)

For you guys and gals who bought LOTR R1 and for those who are planning to buy:

I've watched my LOTR DVD for 3 times now and I noticed that there are cracks around the center hole of the disc 1.  This was caused by the tight button on the center hub of the case.
So I'm planning to move my disc 1 in another case.

I think I'm just an unlucky SOB
