Hi Tube Pro,

I used vishay metal oxide resistor for my power supply and this is how it looks like:

Sir TonyT,

I bought some 330 ohms 5watts resistors last monday and what I've got were different from what I was expecting like a rectangular cement type wirewound. these are cylindrical-axial type which I think a carbon composition resistor. Are they?
See pictures below:
(I've included some 1-watt resistors and a chip amp IC so you can visualize its real size)

yes they look like philips type carbon comps, but break open one to make sure.....the white ceramic encased 5 watters are wirewound types...
That's OK, you can like or dislike anything you choose. That's the wonderful thing about the freedom

Hi sir s2kov,

Thanks for the info and illustration.
But if I got that small one, like 1/2w or 1w metal oxide, I will still be confused if it's a metal oxide or a metal film type.  ;D

Yes sir TonyT,

I was expecting for that wirewound 5-watter white ceramic thing, but they gave me this cylindrical which I think a 5-watt carbon composition resistor. I'm not used to this 5-watt cylindrical shape, anyway thanks for the add'l info.  ;)

hi joel,
i am not aware of 5 watter carbon comps, the biggest i'v seen so far are 2 watters as far as carbon comps are concerned....any higher than that and they come as wire-wounds...

interesado ako sa panel meter mo, can you email me specs at saka how much, i am contemplating on setting up bech psu's...thanks... ;D

Hi master TonyT,

same with me. I got interested with this digital panel meter when I saw a video from YouTube showing this to monitor his output tube cathode voltage anytime, so he will know when to adjust for the exact bias voltage.
I bought these, actually, for the same purpose and put them on front panel, but just then realized na mejo awkward for the tube amp, which is supposed to have a vintage look, to have this modern digital figures on its face plates.
It comes in different voltage and current ranges:
200mv, 2v, 20v, 200v, 500v, 20mA, 200mA, 2A
mine are the 20v range type in 4-digit display.

They also have the 5-digit display with some RMB's price difference, but they are really cheap.
I'll e-mail the price later...
 ;)

Sure sir Edrel, I'll give you the name of that building, (all-electronics stuff), computer parts and the next building having all mobile phones stuff.
It's more effective to have it printed and show to the taxi driver if you got lost finding the location.
It is the SEG Electronics Market.

MasterJ,
:D really, natawa ako sa quote mo: Toy Kingdom for people like us!
exactly po. You know the first time we went to that place, way back 2008, pagpasok pa lang ng building, para akong naengkanto, natulala ako (honestly). palibhasa, sa Raon lang ako nasanay, at malaki na sa akin ung Deeco, tiangge pa lang pala un sa China. hahaha... :D
Later d ko na rin alam if I would go to the left or right side, sa ground or the upper floors.

 ;)

Naku brader. the gears and stuff we can build from those array of parts can only be limited by our imagination.  ;)

If I were to visit there I would book a reservation on the nearest hotel and be there from opening 'til closing time.  ;D ;D ;D

Thanks for the kind offer bro, I've been itching to learn PIC programming and machine language for some time now but haven't decided yet on which trainer tool to start with. I just hope I ain't too old for this...  ;D ;D ;D

Sir Edrel,

1 peso is equivalent to 6 patacas:

Php 1.00 = MOP 6.011 (as of this time / Nov. 3)

Hi sir Edrel,

By the way, ung order kong Output Transformer, 1st week of January ko po kunin. Sa Molino Bacoor Cavite lang ako, Camella Springville.
Flight ko on Dec 26 na...  :D yehey...
See you sir...

Hi Sir Edrel,
hindi pa sir kumpleto parts nitong MK3, ung OPT na order ko sa 'yo, un ang gagamitin ko.
I have the PT and Choke coils already. So while waiting, I made myself busy with the tiny chips, the Gainclones  ;D
at the same time, I started working on my DIY MOSFET amp using 2SK1058 and 2SJ162, so I bought some parts in CatTai Shuhai last Sunday.
Baka by January or Feb na kami tutuloy ng Shenzhen.
ito pa lang ung update:

Circuit design laser printed on a transparency sheet

Checking kung tapat mga pins ng MOSFETs. (not the actual heatsink na gagamitin ko, mejo maliit ito)

Filter caps 100v WV for +/-77v supply

See you sir jan sa pinas.
Paki PM nalang po ung contact numbers nyo.
