Logitech Z550 5.1 speaker will be my next buy for my new toy that's why i did not buy any of their bundle promo HTIB  ;D ;D.

For those who have own this LCDTV can you post your settings so that the new user that recently acquired their unit have an idea how to tweak their unit.  ;D

For unit owners, pls measure the height of the glass (pls dont include the plastic border). Pls give in millimeters.

I'm contemplating of replacing my 25" crt for this LG model. My only criteria is that I want to retain the same viewing size in 4:3 mode.

Read from another forum that this is now Php 24,990.00 for cash purchase. Robinson's.

Also read this model's manual and it has a warning for image retention. I thought LCD are immune to image retention, unlike Plasma?

yes this is confirmed.

Anyway, tested my unit last weekend - here's some observation:
1. TV - connected it to an aerial antenna, reception and PQ was better than expected although mas malinaw pa rin yung PQ sa Sony WEGA na 21".
2. Connected it sa Xenon  via component cable - PQ is ordinary as it was only 480i
3. Connected it to another Xenon na progressive - PQ is much better at 480p
4. Connected it to PSP via component - PQ is good at 480p, although the screen is small (miski i-zoom ko ay di na mapuno yung screen). Hindi ba dapat ay automatic na mapuno nya yung screen?
5. Tried playing USB - it cannot recognize mkv files, DIVX is no problem. Files I have is the 700mb na DVD rip, so I assume quality is DVD also at 480p. PQ is ok, depende sa pagkakarip. So hindi ko pa actually nasubukan ang HiDef hangang 480p lang. San kaya pwede makadownload ng 720p or 1080p na AVI test file?
6. Connected it to a Notebook via RGB, PQ is very nice although kailangan ko humanap ng tamang setting kc hindi puno yung screen, sometimes kulang sa gilid pero at 1024 x 768 e puno ang screen may konting kulang lang sa kanan. Sabi sa manual ay depende sa Video Card- guys- do you have the same observation?

b) assuming naman na may upscaling DVD player ako connected via HDMI 1080p, tapos nagplay ako ng ordinary DVD malaki ba ang improvement or PQ will just be the same except naka-HDMI lang ako?

Thanks a lot in advance, sana weekend na uli para makapagexperiment...

Napakadaling mag-park sa Robinsons Starmills, kahit Sale.  ;)  Tama po, Scarlet nga yung naka-sale at 24,990 dun sa San Fernando, Pampanga.

Dapat i-set mo yung TV as "Extend my desktop to this ... bla-bla" para i-detect nung PC kung ano yung true size capability nung TV.  Kung same display siya with your first screen, isusunod lang talaga ng windows yung resolution ng TV dun sa native display ng PC.

i have found a thread at AVSForum regarding USB tweaking on playing MKV files.  ;D

link of the thread  :o

http://www.avforums.com/forums/lg-owners-forum/1012225-usb-port-new-lg-lcd-lh-series.html

Have anybody tried this? It would be a great tweak if it does work, especially if it can read from higher capacity hard disks.

I just happened to accidentally dropped by Robinsons Metro East Appliance Center last Nov 27, 2009 (Friday) late afternoon. Did checked their display of LG LCD TVs on sale. Was surprised to see the 32LF20 selling at php22,990.00, while the 32LH70 was selling at php24,990.00. It was a one-day "Black Friday Sale" that time. Stayed there in the store to check on the buyers of these units. Was originally planning for a 32LF20 unit with a budget of php25k. Didn't leave the store until finally decided to get a 32LH70 unit. There are a lot of advantages getting the 32LH70 with just a mere php2k difference. Another buyer had gotten hold of the last unit (32LH70). Asked the LG salesman if I could still get a unit, and with the approval of their manager, they agreed to let me purchase one with a full amount deposit.

I had also availed of the HT554TM home theater system at 50% discount amounting to php9,995.00. As I needed an HTIB with an optical input and with very low-power consumption (80watts) as compared to other AV Receivers.

By Nov 29, 2009 (Sunday) morning, I was able to pick up my sealed unit from the store. It did include a wall-mount bracket for free (worth php990.00). Paid thru BPI Credit Card straight charge without any add-on charges. Gotten also a free Philips Earphones worth php300+ c/o BPI Credit Card/Robinsons Appliance Center promo. Also did get the Jollibee 6-pc. ChickenJoy promo (actually x2) c/o BPI Credit Card. One for the purchase of LCD TV and one for the HTIB (paid for on separate dates).

Didn't have any problem with covered parking (free), not crowded (during buying/pick-up), and was delivered promptly to my parked vehicle. And the place is very close to our place (just within a 10-minute drive).

That one-day Black Friday Sale is a (first time?) once-a-year event of Robinsons (following the US Stores sale event). Too bad for those who have not availed of such. By Nov 28, the price had gone back to php29,990.00 until Nov 30. And by Dec 1, they said that it will go back to php34,990.00.

Will post reviews of the unit in the next few days/weeks, as I do have a high definition 720p/1080p player to play around with. Have not picked up my HTIB yet. Hopefully within this week.

i think for 720p, you need 1366x768 res
1080p, 1920x1080 res

correct me if i'm wrong

I tried it, no "Tool Option 3"  :(

Sayang, the tv can read HDD's up to 1TB pa naman.  Saan kaya makakadownload ng firmware v3.15?

Won't toying with these  firmware possibly cause problems? There not tied to the model specifically and they even the menus are different.

Yup.   I don't want to risk bricking my tv, too.  I want a fw specific to 32LH70YR.

How you can enjoy the full BRRIP if your TV can't decode the DTS. I will just use my HTPC for playing MKV files. :)

^^

at robinsons bf pque its 39,990 less 8k for cash and straight payment with free wall mount, lg cell fone and a philips alarm clock. if you use bpi card you will get two alarm clocks and a 6 piece chicken joy from jollibee :D hehe

at SM appliance center its 39,990 less 10k for cash and card purchase. ask for more discount and store manager might give you discount maybe 1k or 500 pesos more.

same deal with ansons cash and carry as sm appliance.

Hi guys!

This is my first post here. I got the LG 32LH70 last Monday with the HT554TM htib and I have to say I am loving it! For the price and features I believe this unit is well worth it. I will try to post some pics soon once I fix our sala. Hehe.

Yun lang po.

Peace! :)

Processing full BRRIP probably is asking too much for the TV, i'm glad i have the WD media player :)

Hello! I just bought the 32lh70yr a few days ago and been looking for a way to be able to play .mkv.
The ok+ok option does not show the proper menu as suggested, so i looked for a way to find the tv's fw version.

here's what i found:

1)Plug USB Thumb Drive to the USB Port
2) Press Menu
3) Move Cursor to highlight "Option"
4) Press "7" 7 times (instead of FAV 7 times) & wait for awhile
You will get the Expert Menu

and there you can see the fw version, mine is 3.15
