But when Boston won in 2008, they had so many more pieces aside from the big three. They had then an athletic PG (Rondo), a pair of very skilled veteran players (PJ Brown and Cassell), a defensive stopper who could go against superstar G/Fs (Posey) and a group of adept big men (Perkins, Powe and Big Baby) and instant offense type players (House).

Lets see how Miami fills up the rest of its roster. If they cant fill it with 7-8 decent players, I dont think it will work. And imagine if one of them gets injured? What then?

And they had formidable role players as well.

Posey, Perkins, Rondo, House, Cassell, Powe and PJ Brown all had a hand in their 08 title.

Naunahan mo ako! ;D

I think Miami will not be able to win the championship this year as their team won't have a chance to develop an identity and chemistry. Also, the rest of the NBA will eventually adjust their game plans to make Miami's talented trio less formidable on the court than on paper.

If I were Lebron, I should have picked Cleveland or New York Knicks para he can own the team and the championship. Pag Chicago kse he'll still be under MJ's shadow. Sa Miami naman nakapag champion na si Wade dun e.

Pero if you assess what's best for him and his family in terms of money - the best way to go is Miami Heat due to the luxury tax issue. Lebron would really become a billionaire with all the endorsements plus  luxury tax savings. Tapos Miami would be his best bet to win a championship ring tapos barkada pa nya yung 2, san ka pa?. Eto talaga ang best choice nya.

Kawawa Cleveland. Nag sour graping nga si Dan Gilbert because now he will never recoup his investments. Malulugi na Cleveland cavs.

I don't usually agree with Bill Simmons but I have to agree this is funny.  ;D

"In May, after the Cavs were ousted in the conference semifinals, I wrote that LeBron was facing one of the greatest sports decisions ever: "winning (Chicago), loyalty (Cleveland) or a chance at immortality (New York)."

I never thought he would pick "HELP!"

I like this!  Exactly how I feel about Lebron.  Sayang,  I think Lebron missed the chance for a real shot at
greatness when he decided to take the easy way out and team up with Wade/Bosh.  MJ came to Chicago when it was a lottery team. And then he single-handedly turned around the team's fortune and won 6 championships for the city.  I do think this is THE reason why Jordan is ahead of Bryant/James/etc. in the "The Best Ever"discussions.

Yes, Miami looks formidable.  But then again, basketball is a 5 man team.  Until the Heat gets quality role players to surround LBJ,DW3, and CB4,  I doubt if they could get even get past the Magic with their current roster and the Celtics now that they have locked up Allen and Pierce with new contracts.

I do hope this development ushers in the Kobe-Lebron era.

Funny, Lebron basically joined Miami to become second fiddle to Wade whose catchphrase is "not in MY house".

Dan Gilbert is really fuming but he did create a monster by constantly pandering to Lebron's wishes rather than building a good team in contrast to Jerry Buss who let Shaq go and was willing to let Kobe go if needed.
Also, calling Lebron a quitter will never endear him to his current and future players.

I think if Lebron was going to the Heat, hindi na siya dapat nag pa 1-hour "reality show" pa.  Pang courtesy mo na lang sa former employer mo and the state of Ohio.

Respeto na lang sana.

With the way Lebron handled his decision......its him saying he is no Kobe.....he is no MJ.

For that to materialize...he should have stayed in Cleveland or Chicago.   Those teams can still win....with him being the leading man.

In Miami....he is taking the easy route......but taking a legacy hit.

The problem with this development is that for me, Lebron cannot be compared anymore with Jordan and even Kobe because of Dwayne Wade.

Honestly, I don't even know why he is being compared when he has no ring in the first place.

Sorry.

Palitan.

Lebron does not have any chance of being compared with Jordan and even Kobe anymore because of Dwayne Wade.

All along LBJ was being regarded as the next MJ.  Not anymore, now he's the next "Pippen".

Oh well, he might have turned down greatness but he sure has landed richness.

Not just from sportswriters....but from retired players too.....

He was arguably the best player in the NBA.......why would he join forces with Wade and Bosh?  He was taking the easy way out.   Its something MJ, Bird and Magic wouldnt have done.

Understandable if he was 32 and going pass his prime........but not this early.

Maybe what Garnett said about LBJ's free agency affected his decision.

"Loyalty is something that hurts you at times because you can't get youth back. I can honestly say that if I can go back and do my situation over, knowing what I know now with this organization, I'd of done it a little sooner.
