Nobody knows....unless you spend money for technical/engineering research which involves millions of pesos to arrive at an unbiased conclusion... but for personal opinion or haka-haka madali lang yan..it boils down to personal preference.

for personal experience, i think the best person to ask is sir Carlo777. i think he owns quite a number of flat panel displays. If I would ask advise re flat panels, I would ask him.   ;D

Bat walang Toshiba?

We'll based on experience madaling masira Samsung... LG is durable and has good after sales support...Sharp... haven't tried one but the Quattron model is cool!

My 32V Sharp Aquos was 4 years old when I disposed it of last April 2010 - got rid of it because of space issues in my house, not TV issues.  My choice was to get rid of either the 2006 Sharp LCD or the 2003 HD-CRT Sony. I chose to keep the old tech TV.

My 32V LG turned 2 years old last Jan., but it has been used primarily as secondary PC monitor (hence, not heavily used unlike the Sharp and the Sony).

My 19" Eizo LCD PC monitor is 6 years old and still remains COLORFUL and sharp despite years of extensive use.  It was pretty expensive anyways and covered by maker's 5-year warranty.  Too bad Eizo doesn't sell LCD HDTVs.

At any rate, nobody can reliably answer the above question.

Results can be inconsistent, but at least may konting guide tayo kahit paano.

http://www.brighthub.com/electronics/home-theater/articles/67074.aspx

Consistently the most reliable is Sony.  Next are Vizio, Sharp, Samsung, Panasonic and LG, with about equal performance. Worst are Mitsubishi, JVC and Hitachi.

Consumer Reports says Sony, Samsung, and Toshiba are very reliable.

Less-popular brands are usually not included in surveys.

according to mr.sns, it's sony :)

http://www.pinoydvd.com/index.php/topic,70382.msg1366117.html#msg1366117

Sony is expensive because of product quality--Sony is more durable than other brand TV.

Nevertheless, the picture quality of both LE7500 and EX710 are almost the same.

By the way, thanks for dropping by our shop. Thanks also for posting the picture of our shop. :D

we have 2 old sony TVs at home, still working fine but not being used anymore. one is a de-pihit b&w TV :)

This is a big help, am looking for a new LCD TV and am being offered good discounts on sony TV's unfortunately not much talk on sony LCD's in the recent posts and using the search.

Not to mention my four year old CRT 21' Wega said "adios amigos" after only four years of service only used during weekends for Playstation gaming, plugged to a regulator, brought it to sony busted Picture tube daw cost me 6k to fix it so no thanks will just get a newer and bigger TV.

Do you think it is a good gamble to buy a sony compared to say a toshiba LCD?  Say all things being equal FULL HD Sony to FULL HD Tosh or LED Sony to LED Tosh?

Thanks!

I say Toshiba.

Sony in the Philippines is too overpriced.  It may be reliable, but in case of an unlucky breakdown, Sony service in the Philippines is also overpriced.

sony meron ako 32inch @ satisfy naman ako, base on my actual experience. medyo mahal nga lang ng konti lang naman , but you get the value to your money, may mga kapitbahay ako bumili ng ibang brand  medyo dissapointed sila later on..so for that  sony is good after all.

if you can afford em, why not. and if you'll be at-peace with they brand (but im guessing you wont be due to your wega experience hehe).

one of the things i noticed why sony bravias are much much more expensive compared to their same-size competitors is due to the extra features that a typical user might not actually need.

toshiba's also a well-known brand and a good choice IMO.

@ Barrister - I concurr sir, the RPTV Toshiba I had was great.  Even after years all it needs is regular cleaning and calibration (once a year) and it was as good as new.

@aceaceace - Thanks for the link, yun nga boss medyo takot pa ako with the recent bad experience but the special discount offer are tempting kasi. Yung iba 40% discount so am thinking for the big discount it may be worth the risk

Toshiba for me.

I have 2 Toshibas, one is 3 years old, the other is almost 1 year old. Neither one has had a problem.

I have a small Samsung 940MG (not sure of the model)... but that has already been repaired because of a faulty IR sensor. It also had a problem with its Standby mode.

I guess matibay si Tosh and Sony kasi Japan made sila. Though not discounting the build of Korean brands which are the number one makers of LCD screens. But when you say No. 1 this may not necessarily co notate that they are the best in quality, it may mean they churn out the largest number of screens tama ba???

Japan :)

ang pagkakaalam ko kasi.. Sharp is LCD OEM at sila yong kaunaunahan nag manufacture ng LCD sa Japan. Then next is Philips then followed by Sony.

anyway

sa electronics tsambahan talaga pero to make sure yong durability read read at alamin ang review & history ng manufacturer.

I have a 32inch Sony LCD - the V1 Series. Bought in 2006 and still kicks ass until today.
Eto yong mga time na 6 digit pa ang price even the 32 inch LCD.

Ok pa din. Wala pang headache na binibigay sa akin.
It is being used for Movies, PS3 Gaming and sometimes as PC Monitor.
