Another bug!

I turned on my player this morning and everything's fine. But once you start playing the movie (Bluray, DVD, avi from USB) the screen turns black and doesn't show any audio. You have to push stop then setup on the remote to make the settings screen reappear. Play again and the screen turns black once more.

Audio is fine, though.

What I did was turn off the player, unplug it from the socket, wait about five seconds, plug it back, wait for the boot screen to finish then turn it on. Everything came back to normal like nothing happened.

Only happened to me once, so far...

By the way, instead of unplugging the unit to reboot, you can just press and hold on the power button until the display reads "boot".

DTS mkv's are usually over 4GB.  The CD-R King BD player only recognizes fat32, I believe.  If you burn the file to a Dual Layer DVD, it should be able to play it.  An impractical solution but a solution nonetheless.

Hehehe @ CDRKing HTIB bluray.... well, I have the same situation as you... only optical input for my HTIB. Ugh. Maybe there'll be a CDRKING Blu-Ray Player Version 2 soon with "optical input"... Hehehe. I wish!  :P

diba meron ng 5.1 na mga speakers sa CDR King malamang malapit na talaga yung HTIB.

CDR-King also have an External Bluray drive (for PC) at 4,990.   Now, who's gonna test that one and report back... :)

I have been using the blu-ray player for a week now.  Plays MKVs, avi, mov, flac and mp4 movies from a DVD disc nicely.  Now I also burn my 1080p home videos from Final Cut Express in blu-ray on a DVD (Toast) to play on the CDR King Blu-ray player and it works just fine.  I get about 20 minutes of hi-def videos (1080p and 720p) on a dvd disc.

I am now hoping the unit will last as I am not sure how good CDR King's service support is should anything breakdown. Last time I sent anything to them under warranty I had to wait a few weeks.

Reader or Writer?

I was told it is ony a bluray reader.

Happened to me too..... :'(

I suspect temperature changes affecting the lens......my son and his friends used the room to play PS3 with airconditioning for about 4-5 hours, turned it off and the place was kinda humid when I tried to watch around 8 in the evening....hopefully that's just it. ::)

magkatabi ang player ko at ang sky cable digibox namin. nagkaroon ng interference! remote control answers to both digibox and player! then di lumalabas sa TV 'yung player. i had to pull out digibox's power cord.

By fullscreen you mean may black borders sa side, tapos yung image parang naka-squash ang itsura?

here:

DVD: BD:

Note: Samantha with the blond hair on DVD is still there. Di ko lang nasama sa picture.

Is it because the image on DVD is 1:78:1 and on BD is 1:85:1? I changed my display settings to all option, but I keep getting the same image on BD.

I don't quite understand.  Though with The Social Network at 2:40:1, I see black bars on top and below.

Nasanay kasi ako na kapag widescreen, I see black bars.

Or this would depend on the TV size? Or is it the same image size lang minus the black bars?

Bought this player 2 days ago and its quite good esp. in terms of HD video quality (though it depends on the quality of HDTV you will use, but for me there is a significant difference in comparison to my other media player). NTFS formatted removable flash/portable drives are not supported which is a shame, so viewing MKV hd videos over 4gb is not going to happen in this player, unless you'll burn it in a dual layer DVDr and Bdr to be read as data or splitting it into several parts.

Heat is another annoying thing with this player, ewan ko lang ah pero yung nakuha ko mainit sya. I've touched the backplate and the casing its quite hot for just viewing a single bluray title.

Audio quality is very good when connected to an hdmi/coax/optical dts and dolby receiver (mine is on coax).

DVD plays all region while bluray is region 1 only...^_^

Hmmm no video zoom function in the remote???

Sana lang magkaron ng firmware upgrade itong player nato to correct some major issues and improve overall functions, considering also compatibility to NTFS file format.

If not for the unsupported NTFS format compatibility this bluray player for its price would have been a bang for the buck. But, I will still recommend it to those who are on a budget and want to experience viewing bluray movies in all of its glory...^_^

jekoy.  Fiddle with the settings of your player.  I do not have the CDR-King Player, but since it look similar (the menu) to my Xenon Player, it might come from the same OEM.  Check Settings> Display>    And fiddle with the settings (ie 16:9 wide, 16:9 pillarbox, Pan and scan etc...)...
