bro jerix,
just make sure that you don't max out your amp, because with those specs, obviously, medyo mahihirapan ang amp mo, so moderate lang, kasi you might end up damaging it in the future. Think of it this way, ang hose na malaki ay ikinakabit mo sa gripo mo na maliit, pupwede, but the pressure isn't that strong, d ba? Just like your amp and your speakers.
Bros Maki and Kimpoy,
The DTX 9.5 bookshelf is really intended for use as surrounds, no need to worry about timbre matching since they have the same drivers and differ only with enclosure size. Now, if you don't have space constraints, go ahead, buy the DTX 9.5 Towers and use them for surrounds, mas ideal nga kung pareho na lahat ng speakers mo e. But if you do have problems with space like some of us do, bookshelfs are best, kasi sagabal sa daan ang towers if maliit lang room mo d ba? And here's a fact, frequencies around 200Hz and below are not localized, meaning, you couldn't really tell where the bass frequencies are coming from, so whether or not your surrounds are full range, it wouldn't matter that much, because you have the subwoofer to take care of those frequencies. Just make sure that the lower frequency response limit of your fronts, center and surrounds overlap with the upper freq. resp. limit of your sub. One more thing, surround speakers are ideally placed 2 to 3 feet above ear level, so mas mahirap siguro kung towers ang i aangat mo to that level right? And I think the DTX 9.5 Bookshelfs cost less than 2k, not sure though, anybody tried calling dealers for the price of a pair?
