Ok, thanks mate. I was just curious why Asustor and not Synology or Qnap. But hey, Asustor has an impressive NAS line up with a tempting price tag. This company is quite new to this network storage industry (~3yrs) and I'm still in 'monitoring' mode.
I hope your family is OK in the midst of this terrible phenomenon happened in Visayas.
Thanks for your concern, we were fortunate, no damage, injury or loss. Yolanda passed just to the north of us, we had high winds & rain for 5 hours, anything remotely loose or weak no longer exists.
Yes Asustor is fairly new, it's the networking arm of Asus. I considered both Synology & Qnap but as a newbie to networking thought the Asustor would be easier for me to work with. Also the cost was appealing, I had it loaded with 4 x 3TB Barracuda NAS drives & set up in raid 5 for around P63K (in the UK). There is quite a good review on CNET & they also compare all 3 brands.
