I'm impressed with the cable organization and management.. Overall excellent progress..  Do you plan any LAN cabling for internet streaming, etc?

Update :- Started the speaker cable conduit installation today. Photos of today's work, should be completed tomorrow with the cables pulled in.

Are those wood holding the wire conduits in the ceiling? Termites can eat them all up. I would rather have aluminum or plastic hold them than wood. Or bolt those steel square brackets directly to the concrete above. That's just my opinion sir, not meaning to offend on your design choices. Subscribing to your thread and eagerly waiting to see it done.  :)

Hi, I'm beginning to get curious on the development of your home cinema. From what I've gathered, the house construction started in September last year. I don't know the details of your arrangement with your contractor but it seems he and his workers are taking too long to finish your HC more so your house. I do understand that it's well and good if your contractor is meticulous with his crew's quality of work, makes sure that every nook & cranny is in order and only wants what is best for your house, but aren't you getting tired of waiting for the completion of your house and HC (or whichever order you prefer ;D ;D ;D)?

Hi MLfanatic & welcome. Yes they are wood members in the ceiling, they are being used to hang the ceiling framing from throughout the house, all the wood has been treated so not a problem.
Don't worry about offending, all comments & suggestions are appreciated, I'm glad others are taking an interest   :)

Hi edwn1220, Yes I'm getting frustrated with the length of time the project is taking. We have had a few problems that were out of our control resulting in target dates not being met resulting in rescheduling of contractors. We're 3 months behind but both myself & my architect are supervising the work which is of a higher standard than I was expecting. As a retired engineering manager there is not a lot that I miss on site. The HT room was set up as a different project using the same crew as building the house & I'm happy with the way things are especially as I have a penalty clause in the contract if the build exceeded 6 months.
Thanks for your concern, all comments welcome.

Heads gone, I'm in the forgetful mode at the moment.
Yes the downstairs will be networked & an ASUS RT-AC66U wireless router will serve upstairs & the garden. I have a NAS server with 12TB & will eventually load all films & music on to it. Hopefully got all bases covered but I'm a newbie with networking, got all the kit, now just have to learn how to use it   ;D

It's a good thing you have a firm grasp of  the work that is being done in your house. It's also a big plus that you are taking extra precautions like including a penalty clause. One can only be too prepared for any eventuality.
Good luck on your HT construction and I wish to see more pictures of its progress soon!

Don't rely too much on wireless networking.  Wired network is still the best when streaming from a NAS.

One of my regrets in building my house is not making some provisions for wired network for all rooms in the house.  LAN to LAN wired connection from the main router is better than wirelessly connecting to the main router.

I agree with what you say oReOsHaKe but I am against TV's & PC's in the room I sleep in. The wireless is for the wife to keep her happy with her phone & tablet   ;D
The serious networking will be wired, I shall be using Gigabit switches for connecting to the NAS.

Update :- We have gone a little backwards today but it's only cost us 1 day. After listening to some friendly advice from Ricky I re assessed the use of chicken wire to support the Rockwool. After an inspection this morning I realised the wire mesh would be prone to causing grating noises with the subwoofer in full flow. I decided to remove the mesh & replace with nylon fishing line, this is complete. We have doubled the crew in the HT room tomorrow, 2 guys will install the Rockwool & 2 more will come along behind & fit the plywood.

Very Nice.. Can't wait for the acoustic treatment..

Thanks oreOsHaKe, to start with the acoustic treatment will be 56 2' x 2' panels + 8 corner bass traps in the HT room & 8 panels in the lounge for the stereo system. I'm going to wait & listen to see what else I need. My long term intention is to have the HT walls covered in fabric to hide the acoustic treatment, what I call making it look pretty.

Hi sovrain, it is frustrating waiting for things to happen, the waiting is boring but getting involved definitely is not. Unfortunately I'm not a camera man, I class the camera as a necessary evil, understand what you say & it would probably be easier to understand the build but a tripod etc. is not going to happen. I have been trying to take the photos from the same positions & there are reference points on the walls e.g. boxes for outlets that you can focus on for inter photo positioning. If anyone wants close up of any areas just post & I will upload.  :)
