Aside from stereo imaging, echoing in the L-shaped portion might also cause some problems.
A suggestion for the L-shaped part is to put a shelf there & all your gears are in the upper part of the shelf (for access to remote) and put your DVDs at the lower part (sound diffusion). Your gear's wires can be accessed through a cabinet at the back of the shelf for easy cable management. If possible try to close off the L-shaped part and put your gears, utilities, P**ted DVDs there
. This would make the setup look very neat.
