M&K MX-105 daw gamit dito, I like this HT subwoofer. But this is big mama, heard it on a 12 x 20 ft. room, and the ceilling vibrates. Must have turn this 10 x 11 ft. room featured here into a blender!

Are those auralex foams and other absorptive products available locally?

A black ceiling...hmmm, that may look nice in my room.

I may have missed it, but did they carpet the room?

Can you make the pic bigger? I cant read whats on it.

Dont forget acoustic considerations.

For music, my experience is that its much better without the big TV in the middle (PJ or flat panels are a good alternative). But for HT , ok lang. I used to have a RPTV in between 2 speakers too and the music was so much better when I went for a PJ.

Also that small L shaped room protrusion might cause some problems in stereo imaging.

sir mat,

thanks for replying. honestly, i was inspired with your work on your ht...obviously kita sa design yung influence ng design mo. hope you dont mind. :) yung mga naka sulat ay kung saan ko ilalagay ang acoustic treatment ko (the vertical posts) at yung horizontal brown lines are cornice for the wires para abang na rin. yung mga bintana tatakpan ko na lang ng acoustic treated na panel na removable.
cant really do anything about the L type protruding  (nandun na siya eh), plano ko na lang lagyan ng kurtina at siya na ring lugar for my computer (htpc) at siyempre with connections na abang na rin sa wall.

If possible, make them very thick and 2 layers of curtains would be better.

baka mas maka mura ako using 2 layers of curtains using other types of cloth  than using 1 layer of blackout cloth. will try to check this... mahal nung blackout cloth... aabot ako ng 20k+++ just to cover the three sides.

I didnt need blackout cloth in my setup. Just 2 layers of DARK curtains from SM did the trick. Murang mura pa. I think I spent no more than 2k for one side.

You also do not need to cover the whole side. Sound absorption is critical usually at the front half only. But if you want to cover the whole side then why not.

Aside from stereo imaging, echoing in the L-shaped portion might also cause some problems.

A suggestion for the L-shaped part is to put a shelf there & all your gears are in the upper part of the shelf (for access to remote) and put your DVDs at the lower part (sound diffusion). Your gear's wires can be accessed  through a cabinet at the back of the shelf for easy cable management. If possible try to close off the L-shaped part and put your gears, utilities, P**ted DVDs there  ;D. This would make the setup look very neat.

Also if your gears has rs232 interface, you can use a touch screen device like this:

Para COOL  :)

Wala na, my estimate is that the 2 layers of curtains would do the job and if they dont...calibration will kick in and complete the work.

i'm planning to put a projector screen..what size pwede ilagay? 110" diagonal? and what's the minimum requirement viewing distance? i'm planning to put 2 rows seats tapos if hindi ginagamit yung projector..i want to use my plasma para sa viewing ng tv...nagustuhan ko kasi yung design ng audio visual driver sa shangrila :)

Sa MC Home Depot, there's a shop selling insulation (the white foam with aluminum foil).  They sell accoustic padding as well.  There are several stalls selling these kinds of insulation (they look like layers of shreded yellowish cushion).  Good for both thermal and accoustic raw?

I'm sure the other Depot places also have similar shops.  Good luck sir.
