Yeah saw it this morning when I powered up. My trust in Nvidia is safe unlike other Android TV gadgets whose updates are sorely delayed most of the time whether it be TVs or even the Mi Box.
I updated mine this morning too.. I was surprised that the download file was only 19mb.
It restarted and updated..
After updating mine. I was greeted by a black screen with a exclamation point saying "Your device is corrupted. It can't be trusted and may not work properly"😪 I tried to factory reset via recovery and its a no go. I was able recover it using the recovery image 6.2 from nvidia via fastboot using usb A male to male cable.. I was abit hesitant to use a usb 2.0 cable since I saw alot of guides saying I need a USB 3.0. I gave it ago anyway, since I've been flashing different android boxes with this cable.
after successfully restoring my shield I tried to update it again to 6.3 and now it shows the size of the update is 1.2GB.
when it restarted. I got a different message again. But now its different. it says to unlock my bootloader.
went back to fast boot and re-locked the bootloader.
right now everything is back from what it was.
Now i know that I can just use a USB 2.0 cable to recover my shield.
Because of what happened I'm now thinking of updating to pre rooted developer images for my shield.
Not really sure who's at fault here, but now i think its the OTA servers fault that game me a 19MB update instead of the 1.2GB update.
I still trust Nvidia, all the support documentation, recovery image and adb/fastboot drivers are readily available. I was able to revive my shield.
