Marvel Studios announced five more Disney Plus TV series during the Disney Investor's Day presentation:

Secret Invasion

'Secret Invasion' is a show based on Marvel Comics’ Secret Invasion event, starring Nick fury and the Skrull agent Talos as they deal with a secret Skrull invasion on earth.

Ironheart

The teenage hero Ironheart stars Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams, a young Black girl from inner city Chicago who reverse engineers Tony Stark’s armor to become the protector of her neighborhood.

Armor Wars

For the darker side of what happens when Iron Man tech falls into the wrong hands, Don Cheadle will return as War Machine in a series based on Marvel Comics’ Armor Wars.

Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special and I Am Groot

Disney Plus will also host Marvel’s “first live action Christmas special,” The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, written and directed by James Gunn, which will be shot during the production of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, and will hit Disney Plus during the 2022 holiday season. 'I Am Groot' will be a series of shorts featuring new characters from around the Marvel Universe.

These announcements are INSANE.

Even though not everyone is a fan of everything, I think 95% of people are looking forward to something in this slate.

Tagal naman lumabas Disney+ locally, they should reprimand their marketing team, ngayon quarantine is the best time to launch it here

They dropped the ball seriously by skipping out on THE PHILIPPINES!!!!

At least they don't have to spend more subtitling/dubbing programmes in god-knows-how-many languages....

Anyone here using NordVPN for their Disney+ subs? No issues so far?

How about those who recently subscribed to Disney+, still needs US issued CC?

Thanks

Haven’t tried Nord. I’m using Surfshark and no issues whatsoever.

Yes, you can’t use a local card, even with VPN activated. No luck also using Paypal. They detect that the CC paired with it is a local card.

Best bet is using iTunes to pay. I use this for my account. I just buy US iTunes credits and use my US Apple ID.

‘Black Panther’ Director Ryan Coogler inks 5-Year Exclusive Disney Television Deal; Wakanda Series In Works For Disney+

The Walt Disney Company has extended its relationship with Black Panther director and co-writer Ryan Coogler. Disney has made a five-year overall exclusive television deal with Coogler’s Proximity Media, which he runs with principals Zinzi Coogler, Sev Ohanian, Ludwig Göransson, Archie Davis and Peter Nicks. Coogler, who is working on the Black Panther feature sequel he will direct this year, will develop new television shows for the studio. The first one will delight Black Panther fans: a drama series based in the Kingdom of Wakanda for Disney+. The deal also enables Proximity to develop television for other divisions of the Company.

Any updates on when Disney+ will launch in the Philippines?

2022??  2023 maybe????

The good folks at the Mouse House are really SHOOTING THEMSELVES IN THE FOOT for prioritising INDIA and INDONESIA over THE PHILIPPINES!!!!!

Sure, you can't argue over the potential of ONE BILLION subscribers thanks to their purchase of the Hotstar streaming service, but AT WHAT COST?

Having to subtitle/dub in a thousand different regional dialects does not make for sound business sense when they can air it straight in English and get the Philippine market locked down!!!!

Moreover, in keeping with these countries' religious sensitivities, all mention of beef and pork would have to be censored from all content being aired over there - something that they wouldn't have to worry about if they have secured the Philippine market first and proved themselves a serious challenger to Netflix over here!!!!

India is India. Even if they spend a fortune, in dubbing or sub titles, it’s still a very HUGE market. Look at what Netflix did. They adjusted their rates for the Indian market.

The reasons you mentioned are very small compared to the potential revenue.

Dubbing is not that expensive. It’s only about $18 per minute.

What we want has nothing to do with it.  It's Disney's business decision.  Even if they corner just 5-10% of the Indian population, that would still be way bigger than the Phil market,

No, because those snooty arrogant Singaporeans are so madamot they usually associate a PH account with a free-loading DH

SO YOU ARE NOT CONCERNED.

After all you can VPN which is just as good as pirating signals.

Let's hit them where it hurts and tell Disney straight in the eye that overlooking the PHILIPPINE market is going to be the WORST financial MISTAKE that they shall ever make and shall eventually lead to great FINANCIAL LOSSES back home!!!

You’re not getting the damn point bro. Of course I’m concerned. I’m a Disney+ user ever since it was launched and I am hoping they will have it here. I’m just saying the reason why they chose India over us. It’s as simple as that.

Your logic is absurd. Financial mistake on choosing India over us? Cmon man. Think.

Hay naku.
