^^^ True...Let's face it..Asians are not blessed with the combination of strength, height and speed of African Americans.   

Skill can be developed though.  Shooting is a skill and so are handles. Being crafty with the ball as well.

Look at Steph...cant elevate that high, isn't the fastest as well.  He sure as heck isn't tall.  He though is the most feared player in the entire NBA because of his skill level.  No player can bury your team in a 5 minute span like Steph when he gets hot.  A close game will become a blowout whenever he gets hot.

I agree that having a good handle is a skill that can be trained, shooting however is a different thing ... in shooting I think you can train and improve up to a point that you get excellent fundamentals, but being a great shooter I think is God-given talent ...kung makukuha lang kasi sa training yung shooting, wala na sanang bad free throw shooter sa mga professional leagues lespecially in the NBA

meron talagang ang galing sa shooting - kahit yung mga naglalaro lang sa kalye na wala namang training meron magaling ... natatandaan ko pa yung nakakalaro namin na matanda nung kabataan ko na di matalo-talo sa pustahan sa shooting, yung range nya pang 3-pt shot na ngayon at yung makeshift na half-court namin mas maliit ang butas sa standard ring at likely lampas sa 10 ft. - di marunong magmintis yung matanda, at ang training non e hapon pa lang nakikipag-inuman na ... I'm pretty sure that in the NBA there are players that are putting in more work than Curry. but his shooting is not just a skill, talent talaga

akin lang ha...we have a far better chance to develop a Guard to enter the NBA rather than a Forward or Center. Genetics kasi ng Pinoy is when you are tall eh bumabagal.

Here's a clearer perspective of how far our local players are as compared to an NBA caliber player...kung yung caliber ni Johnny A eh hindi makapasok sa NBA tapos yung bench player sa NBA eh pag naglaro sa PBA eh halos mag average ng 50ppg eh you can just imagine the gap ng talent and skill.

We have to be within the realm of reality when it comes to the future of Kai Sotto in landing an NBA spot.  Malabo talaga.  Wag na natin ipilit pa na pag nabigyan ng chance eh kaya naman.

The mere fact that he IS in the Summer League is the opportunity itself. Eh wala eh.  Hindi siguro nagpakita ng skillset na kailangan sa NBA sa mga practice and scrimmages nila...the result was no playing time.

For me, for a Filipino guard to make it to the NBA siguro he has to be at least 6'2" , lightning quick with good handles and can shoot outside. Wag na natin compare sa black american players, siguro sa mga latinos na lang, like Barea, Carlos Arroyo, who made it na pwedeng gayahin ng mga players natin.  Yun lang kasi mga batang players sa atin ina-idolized mga NBA players, gusto nila maging flashy player instead of concentrating on improving their basic skills.
