I think he is pressuring the organization to re-sign Jrue Holiday to an extension however he is 33 years old already and a free agent at the end of the season. A 4 year extension will keep him until he is 37.  Very risky given the sharp decline of players at a certain age. Jrue is already showing signs of decline.

Correct. They finally realized that the time to win is now while Steph is still capable.  Once the abilities of Steph declines eh matatagalan before they can win again.  No more time for rookies to develop and help out.

Lillard would be a good example for future star players to give a window to their original team. He spent (wasted) 13 years with Blazers without reaching the NBA finals. Sana lumipat na sya agad sa ibang team kesa nabulok na sya sa Portland. 33 yrs old na sya. He now only have a good 3-4 more years to get a chance to contend for a championship. After that CJ trade parang nag semi rebuild na ang balzers. Dapat lumipat na sya agad nun (Lakers, Heat, Bucks, 76ers) instead of being loyal to that team. Bali wala yang loyalty na yan.

As a player, why would you stay loyal to a team that isn't invested nor aligned to your goals?  If the goal was to make money then all teams can provide that but if your personal goal is to win it all then there are only a few teams that are committed towards that goal.

Back in 2015 they were contending already but they botched the chance to sign All Star LaMarcus Aldridge to an extension (He signed with the Spurs).  Dun pa lang alam mo na that this will go nowhere.  They then signed Nurkic and rode that triumvirate of Lillard, Nurk and CJ to several first and second round exits in the playoffs.  If it didn't work for one or two years then why stick with the combo?

nagbago na kasi ang NBA culture, team loyalty was very important before ... ngayon mas importante yung championship rings even though you get it by joining established teams ... i'm pretty sure that the championship won by Giannis is much sweeter than the championship won by KD ... dati kasi pag ikaw ang star of the team, you make all the effort to win ... ngayon pag ikaw yung star at di ka nananalo ikaw pa galit sa team, samantalang ikaw yung naglalaro at hindi manalo
